This week is special!
Cave Creek Coffee Company (C4) has an open mic night every Thursday night and local Ducatisti and friend Chris is performing this Thursday.
He is most excellent and I thought this would be a fun outing.
Plan:
Meet for dinner at 6:00pm - leave at 7pm (obviously, if you can't make it by 6pm, just arrive before 7:00!)
Chuy's
12235 North Cave Creek Road
Phoenix, Az

then on to C4 to listen to some great music!

Sorry to say but last week was my final meet up with you silly people. It was nice riding with ya and may visit in the future. Have fun. Play nice. Keep the rubber side down.
That is all.
Nothing follows.

We can change. We can be more fun! Give us a second chance.
What if Dawn lets us go to YC's Mongolian BBQ, would that change your mind?
I am heading back to California...i must admit the idea of Dawn letting us go YC's is tempting though
I probably won't be able to get to Chuy's before 7:00, but I'm gonna do my best to get to C4 for the open mic. That's like an hour from my place. sheesh

Bump for tonight! Forcast is clear tonight with temps in the 50's after dark in Phoenix, high 40's in Cave Creek by 8 pm.
I'll meet everyone as they are leaving for C4 (7:00)
backing out, re-cabling my projector tonight to be ready for some visitors participating in the marathon this weekend
If he's not going, then I'm not going.
J/K
I can't make it anyway.
:'(
sorry for the resched.
on another note, besnard lakes' albatross is a good mazzy star like jam.
The 4 of us had a great meal, very nice ride, super excellent chocolate chip cookies and coffee/hot chocolate in Cave Creek and an equally nice ride home.
Anything going on this week or are we canceled because of rain?

Sorry for late notice... time got away from me.
Anyway, put on your wet-weather riding gear and join us tomorrow (Thursday) at
7:00pm
Nello's in Old Town Scottsdale
7213 E 1st Ave
Scottsdale, AZ 85251

Maybe ...
If it's raining hard, I doubt I'll come. I don't mind getting wet, but (as everyone knows) as soon as it rains the drivers in Arizona suddenly become re-tard-ed.
And ... to be honest ... I actually hate getting wet.

That's gonna be quite a ride for you to get to Nello's in time....
We're prolly gonna have to skip. Regina still isn't experienced enough for rain riding and, in my older age, I'm of the mind that if I don't get caught out in it, I'll pass and stay cozy and play MotoGp08 instead. I'm two races away from winning the 125cc world championship.
Good luck Mister MostroNero on your races tonight! And please say hallloo to Regina! :)
It is supposed to rain all day and night and tomorrow too.
So far looks like a sparse group.
Is anyone planning to come tonight?
D&D,
I'm stay'n in too.

There was just a tornado warning for by my house.
So, I'm going down to the bomb shelter ... which is what I call our family room after my kids have been in it.
If you guys are out tonight, be safe!
Glad everyone was safe last Thursday night.
It was blustery and stormy! Felt like I was back in the mid-West! Wheeeee! ;D
Anyway...
This Thursday's forecast is "partly sunny" so I think we'll be just dandy for our weekly meetup.
We have a new location proposed by our very own gimpy Charles who is reportedly no longer gimpy.
This Thursday
7:00pm (1900)
Sucker Punch Sally's Diner

Interesting. Not Cheweys? Very interesting, indeed. Workload will dictate, but I predict we'll show up. What's the after-dinner coffee destination going to be?

Don't have a destination planned. I figure well talk about it over dinner....
:-)
I might not be able to make it for dinner, but I could meet up at the after-dinner coffee destination.
Is it okay if we pick a location beforehand?
I might not make dinner as well but I would be up for a coffee meeting. Extreme Bean as usual?
For those going to dinner Sucker Punch Sally's is in the old Ruby Tuesday locaiton on Mill/University. I have not ate there yet but I have heard that it is good.

Between Extreme Bean and Gold Bar, I think I like Gold Bar better. The parking is perfect, the hot chocolate is better, the cookies are better, it's less crowded, and the girl behind the counter seemed to have a thing for Ryan.
Michael,
Yes, you can bring that along.
I also put a vote in for Gold Bar... better coffee.

I'm down for the Gold Bar then. Damn... am I really that oblivious?
See ya at Donkey Punch Sally's. [evil]
boogers are sticky [evil]
Looks like the rain will have come and gone by Thursday evening....that bodes well for spinning around on Il Mostro....
Viva la Monstro!
So are we solid on Gold Bar afterwards?
Me and hot chocolate --> [drink]
Couldn't make it. Work got in the way.... >:(
....it was raining anyway.
Donkey Punch's had some okay french toast and [bacon].
Cruised by Gold Bar around 9 and no one was there. :'(
Cool air makes 620's wheelie. :D
Has the group ever met at Papago Brewing over on McDowell/Scottsdale?
I discovered their Papago Orange Blossom at Deluxe Burger a few weeks ago and finally went to the brewery last night. That is some good beer if you like Hef. [beer]
Ted's Hotdogs would also be a great eating place. I just get re-acquainted with that place after many years of "forgot about it".

Thanks for the idea, however, there is nothing for me to eat at Ted's so I will never organize a meetup there. :)
I'm trying to find info about a weekly Thursday night car show (like Pavillions, but smaller) in Glendale(?)
Dietrich mentioned it, but we don't know details... Anyone have knowledge of this?
Brewing companies have surprisingly good food. My wife and I used to frequent the San Tan Brewery in downtown Chandler when we used to live near there. So, I think Papago Brewing sounds very promising.
This week, however, I have a Scout leader meeting (called Round Table) at 7:00pm, so I'll catch up with you guys at the coffee shop (weather permitting).
Gold Bar around 9:00pm?

Hi!
Sorry about late notice....
Anyway, let's try Sucker Punch Sally's again.
4 E University Dr

(NE corner of Mill & University.)
At some point we'll get kicked off the sidewalk.
Until then...
7:00pm
then on to Gold Bar after eats.
See you there!
I'll be there :P
I better ride to work so I can join in! You think the bricks on the sidewalk will make nice smoke with a decent burnout? [cheeky]
If I'm lucky, I might be showing up with my wife (at the coffee shop).
:)
Michael, bring my spring compressors and tank bag back!
I will probably meet you all at Gold Bar as well. I was there last week but left just before 9:15 as nobody showed-up and I had already had 2 cups of coffee.
I will definitely be there with your bag! [thumbsup]

Let's have one last Thursday night meetup and welcome Nate back to Arizona!
One more time:
Sucker Punch Sally's
4 E University Dr
Tempe, AZ 85281
(NE corner of Mill & University.)
Sidewalk parking... [evil]
7:00pm
then on to Gold Bar after eats for dessert....
I'll be there to share like a square bear in underwear.
I might be there at the beginning to say Hi. [beer]

So I made it at the end, instead of the beginning.
It's great to have you back in town again Nate. [thumbsup]

7:00 sounds good. Either there or SPS's. What's the vote? If SPS's is going to be the standard, I'll probably go to one of my meetings like I did last week and then re-convene for coffee.
Days are getting longer, nights are getting warmer. Cibo might afford us an opportunity for "night club" sometime in the near future. [moto]

Might just be me and you.
Dietrich is working late... but I'm hoping he'll be able to come by at some point.
Hey! That place is pretty close to my work...I'll try to be there. Probably on 4 wheels though. Well, in 4 wheels, not on. Might be more fun to be on top with a rope or something to steer with though. then I could lean around corners at least.
Are you going to Gold Bar afterward?
I might try to catch up with you guys there.
See you there, Dawn. Maybe we can split a vegetarian pizza or something until Dietrich shows up. I'm hungry.
Not sure about Gold Bar. I know that "Conspire" is right around the corner from Cibo. They've got the best iced mocha I've ever had.
One wheeled yellow drive-by!
Nice one Ryan. Set off the alarm on a Jeep parked at the curb. [evil]
Excellent wheelie, IMHO. [thumbsup]

oh...um...do we need to go someplace to eat? i mean just up at say a coffee house or not and then just ride. just an idear.
+1
What if we met at someone's house, had some food, and then went for a ride?
And it doesn't need to be a formal meal, but just some finger food to snack on as people showed up (so no one leaves hungry), and then off for a ride.
Anyone who wanted to could take a turn hosting. I'd be more than happy to. My wife makes delicious food.
What do you guys think of that idea?

I'll have to see about this Thursday. Apparently the wife is planning on going to the shooting range with some friends for a "girls night out" with handguns.
The plans aren't super solid, and I'll probably know for sure by this Sunday.
Otherwise, the following Thursday would be great.

I know Caswell's well - used to go shooting there a bunch and took a number of classes there last year.
Sweet!
But I can't swing it this week - my unexpected whirlwind trip to Chicago this weekend took more out of my wallet than I care to think about (stoopid home-ownership). [bang]
*spiraling out of control and off topic*
So, instead of going to the shooting range, all the girls are meeting here for craft night.
Last time they were over they talked a lot about what kind of motorcycles they want (many were interested in cafe racers), why gay men are or become gay, and their various bra fitting mishaps. All the time making these cool little paper boxes out of scrapbook paper for jewelry.
The topics of the evening will probably include the benefits of cloth diapers, husband gossip, and perhaps how to crochet wool yarn.
I'll probably stay in my office, play Doom, and eavesdrop.
Good times. [coffee]
Seriously though, I want to get out of the house.
Is anyone meeting for coffee?
I'm in if anyone else is.
I suggest that we put together a short presentation on the benefits of italian motorcycle ownership for you to give to your wife's friends next time they gather. With a little persuasion (I'm thinking time-share style pitch) it sounds like they may be converted. I'm picturing a bad ass cb750 with with a paper mache tank and fringe on the wheels.
Damn! Shooting night out is waaaaaaay better than crafting night in.
I feel for ya, Michael.
I have a friend in from out of town and not sure what our plans are (maybe just dinner).
Dietrich is most likely working late :(

so...um...where and what time kiddies?
I'm gonna hit up a meeting from 8-9 over on 5th and Myrtle in Tempe, then I'll swing by Gold bar to see if anyone's still there.
It's more likely that I could be at Gold Bar after 9:00pm.
okie dokie ladies!!!!
Cruised by GoldBar at 9:30. No monsters in sight. :(
I got back late and Nate said he was still at home, so I didn't go.
I instead stayed home and listened to five women attempt to grasp the basic concepts of crocheting.

You really should.
I won't be here, so you and Sarah can hang out and watch your woman movies and talk about your woman topics.

Anything this week?
I'll be in a meeting until about 8:30pm, but I'd love to meet up at Gold Bar or wherever around 9:00pm.
Let me know.

I'm going to a meeting in Tempe until 9:00, then I'll swing by the Gold Bar to meet everyone.
I'm in, see you at Gold Bar.
So what else? Just Gold Bar at 8 or so? Eats before? Anyone? Anywhere? Petes Fish and Chips on Apache at 7?

I prolly won't make it for eats, but here's a link to some reviews and the address of Pete's:
http://www.yelp.com/biz/petes-fish-and-chips-tempe (http://www.yelp.com/biz/petes-fish-and-chips-tempe)
:)
Ya, that Pete's is pretty disgusting.
For the area, I recommend Pita Jungle. The food is great, the price isn't bad, you can park right in front, there's outside seating available, and the whole restaurant is like an art gallery of local artists. Also, they have a fantastic vegetarian menu, if you're into that kind of thing.
What? I love Pete's! Everybody loves Pete's! I just threw it out there for the heck of it, but if others like somewhere else, such as Pita Jungle, I'm game. The wife is prolly in too and I know she'd rather go to Pita rather than Pete's. [thumbsup]
It's funny how two people who aren't even going are knocking down your suggestion. [roll]
Some people.
Well, if everyone wants to, we could have a thing at my house again in a week or two. We'll bust out the extra leaf for the table and maybe start cooking earlier than we did last time.
In the mean time ... Viva la Pete's!!!
Or ... Viva la Pita Jungle!!!
Or wherever you guys end up.

I just assumed that since every review said the place was horrible that you were making a subtle point there.
I will see you all at Gold Bar.

I didn't really read the reviews. I wasn't planning on going anyway (too friggin' busy today) but thought others might like to read reviews and have an address in case they'd never been there before.
Yelp is an awesome resource and I use it often to find restaurants and such.
I was just informed that we already have plans to eat some roast beef at the house. So we'll see you all at the Gold Bar around 7:30 - 8:00.

We're flexible if Dietrich has to work,

I thought it was rather funny myself...
Gold Bar tonight?
That was satire......right? Why is it always some ugly woman complaining about how women are treated? Who says those women are "forced" to do the photo shoots? I think the celebs that do those shoots get compensation via a tax break for "donating" their time and efforts to a non-profit charity/cause.
Where's the Gold Bar and what time?

Sorry everyone. My wife has had a horrible headache yesterday and today, and has had to lie down since this morning.

However, I could probably meet up with you guys at Gold Bar after I get the kids to bed.

Regular time -- I'll probably show up a little after 9:00pm.

Well, we could go to that one at the Pavillions, or to the across the street from Gold Bar, on McClintock & Southern (the northwest corner).
I first went to that one on my birthday, I think in 1996 or 97, and I've loved it ever since.

I can't be there early, but I can probably get there around 8:00pm.
