as the title says...
Honolulu the SA said it would be about $10.5k...
Fair price?
that's better than what i was quoted at Beverly Hills... they wanted $11,060.
I'm shooting to get out the door with gear (helmet, jacket) and lojack for that price. (i may be pushing it.)
Got mine for $ 8900 , I did add about 2500 in extras [beer]
those are some hefty numbers for the entry-level monster :P
I know the dollar's falling and all but still...
When I went to Ducati of Seattle, they gave me the same quote...it sounded fair I guess...I just hit a couple thousand past my limit
Wow, some of you guys are getting robbed!!!
$8775 + t + t + t.....
florida, USA
+ leathers for her and me, shorttails for both, cowl for hers, etc....
of course, her bike isnt here yet.....
arrrrgh...!
Wow
$8775 + 400 Transit/Setup (No tax for DE). $1380 for the CF Termis.
i payed less than that for my brand new s2r1000 in 2006 (first one un crated at my dealer...)
as someone else said, the 696 is supposed to be entry level... ???
Yeah I was under the impression that it was supposed to be just under $9000.
Does anyone know anything about financing for it?
Local dealer in NJ was asking $10K for 696 w/termis and aftermarket seat - and they've got a S2R1K w/200 mi's on it and Arrows (I think) for $10K
not a hard decision if you ask me [cheeky]
The honolulu place says the MSRP is $8775 on their website. I too had called to ask their out-the-door price and was told $10,600. We only have a sales tax of 4.137-ish %, which would be about $363 added to the $8775 = $9138. So where does the additional $1462 come from? ???
I know the SA has to earn a living, but isn't his/her commission already factored into the MSRP price?
I am not too keen on that dealership anyway, don't know if I would want to give them my business, although in Hawaii it is our only choice. Called them 4 different times for parts, washer for oil pressure sensor, bulb for license plate, screws for tank latch, and split rings for closing shims. Each time they said they did not have the item is stock, take 2 weeks. Not stocking some items I understand, but how the hell do they not have split rings for closing shims if they are a Ducati dealer? >:( How can they do required maintenance?
[bang] [bang] [bang] [bang]
I think they sit down together to do a guestimation of how much they should charge for "setup fees"...it involves a lot of [drink]
Im looking at getting one next month to get backinto the monster scene. what are you guys getting for an APR? how much monthly?
Atlanta, Georgia
Bike: $8799 + $350 Doc/Shipping + 6% Sales Tax = $9697.94
Gear:
Arai Profile = $430
Ducati 80's Tex = $226
Motard Gloves = $130
- 15%
A little more than I wanted to spend, but I'm happy. No buyers remorse at all.
**Oh, and I was also told by Ducati of North America that getting them now will get you the rear seat cover and front fairing. They are going to stop shipping them with the extras soon. I didn't really want the front fairing, but I'm glad I got the rear seat over.
Damn!!
I paid $8200 out the door for my 695 in January of 2007. That included registration, shipping AND NYC taxes!!!

You got a good deal. Not to mention the dollar has drop quite a bit in the past 6-9 months. [bang]
The 696 was supposed to start at somewhere around $8400 (i think), but before the release the price went a up a bit.
We're lucky the prices haven't gone up a lot higher. The way the dollar has fallen against the euro over the last few years, Ducati is giving us a real bargain on the current MSRP. I paid something like $8200 for a 750 in '02, back when the dollar was about even with the euro. Now the Euro is up 50%. An even increase would put the 696 (equal value to the old 750, ,give or take) at above $12,000! :o
~1500 for freight and setup is another story. :-\
I have a feeling that the economy will make a turn for the better once things in the government... um... change............. :-X

I need to start saving my pennies.... This bike will end up costing a little more than I thought, unless I buy used.

South Seas said that their msrp was $8995 + this + that and + $150 to get it to me here in maui... i may just super fairy it.
i work w/ a kid whos father is the service manager @ SoCal Ducati and their sales manager Mark was going to see what he could do for me..
put it this way if i still lived in So.Cal i would get hooked up, but since he had to ship to maui it wouldnt make much of a difference.
shipping factor was about $600... he also said that $10.5 was a fair price, and thats what their "out the door" price was coming to (more or less)...
anyone in So.Cal that wants a bike, PM me and i will see what i could do... [thumbsup]
Joe
Yeah im probably going to call mark soon and see what he can do on a 696. Im looking for a daily commuter (seriously no car is reasonable with gas prices the way they are!)
Anyway, Ill see what he quotes me, but im curious as to what you can do Grappa! I sent you a PM but its not listed in my outbox so i dont know if you got it or not.
Sorry about not posting before this, ive been lurking around this board for a while and i finally created an account
you couldn't pay me enough to ride one. [puke]

Out the door today at the dealer today, but I didn't buy it as I can do better [thumbsup]:
8375 bike, 1000 freight, 168 DMV fees/licensing for 4 years, 1320 carbon pipes, 150 pipe/ecu/filter install, 100 for 14 tooth sprocket/install : TOTAL being about $11,111 out the door.
No tax in my area.

$1000 freight? That's about $800 more then they are charged.

yup! Tell them to shove that 800 elsewhere. :o
Ducati dealers in the Pacific NW, other than a few, think they can pull off hundreds of dollars for freight/set up. Overall not a horrible deal, but they can do better. I won't say what dealer it is out of respect as the GM is a great guy, so call around the NW dealers if you want to buy a 696 sitting on the floor with no deposit attached to it. It is a big dealer

I just went through this when looking for a new bike recently. I actually became quite disgusted over the whole thing and bought a Yamaha. I would have saved about $2,000 if I bought a R/T ticket to Kentucky, bought a bike there, and had it shipped back to me, even after paying for airfare and cross country shipping cost.
I got quoted about $10,4 for a completely standard 696.
Do you guys think I should try to get some carbon out of the deal? I was thinking I could tell them to put on the CF Termignonis and the CF heat guard for the exhaust pipe and they have a deal. Does this seem reasonable? Maybe I'll say for $11k?
I was quoted in January 8999 +700 frieght pdi blah blah blah. By the time the bike came in it went up another 400 bucks. There was tax on top of that too. With Termis and all totalled including tax it came out to about 12000 bucks Canadian.
you guys should wait.....
those dealers are trying to rip people off (pretty lame IMO)
problem is, every time someone pays their extortion, they will have validation to do it to the next person
unless there is something really special about the 696 that i cant see, they are just trying to capitalize on the new look :P monster
you can get a lot of used bike for that kind of money.
I was actually quite disgusted by DNA's dealers this last go around. I went to my credit union and got pre-approved, they said how much do you want? I said, I don't know..17k? Figured that would be enough for a hypermotard with pipes or an 848. It was but I still decided to shop around a bit. The variance in pricing, freight charges, setup charges, this color cost more then that color charges, etc. were out of line.
I could have bought either bike but didn't "have to have" either one (I'd really like a new 1098 Monster or such) so I decided to look at other brands for the first time in 10 years. Every Yamaha/Honda/Suzuki/Kawasaki sells for less then MSRP out the door. It doesn't have the soul/personality that my Ducs did, but while I wait for "the" Monster to come out, the '08 R6 will do fine at 9400 OTD. 360ish pounds, slipper clutch, ti exhaust, 170 MPH, blah, blah, blah for half the cost of a Hyper with pipes.

they want your sale and all they can say is NO, but make them say it more then once [thumbsup]

Read my post. That was essentially what my deal was going to be. It is amazing here in Oregon, mainly at one dealer. Every single bike in the dealer is MSRP plus $1000 for freight and set up. No way around it. 695, S2R, Hyper, etc....all MSRP plus $1000.
Which is why after only owning my S2R for 22 days before I crashed it, I am debating going back to the Japanese side of the sport. Also, trailering my bike 110 miles each way over and over is no fun either.
Man... maybe I should try to get them to put ALL the carbon on there...
This really won't end up being all that cheap considering it's their entry-level. :-\
At least it's real nice... ;)
696+ with Termi kit and front and rear carbon fendersall intalled for 12,100. ouch! 0 down, financing forever, payment is not bad, but is forvever.
With these prices, it is making it easier for me to wait a year or so before buying. Still want one though! [moto]
Wow...these numbers are scary. I was very lucky....I got my 696 under MSRP with no setup fees in NY state. No complaints here....

Really? Where in New York? I'm in south-western Connecticut so if it's not too far I'll check it out!
With extra fees tacked on placing OTD that far from MSRP, I'll just view them from afar.
Hi, I'm new to the forum and want to thank everyone here for all the great information that I am trying to consume.
I'm a new rider and purchased a used Yamaha YZF600 last October to get my feet wet; I recently sold the bike and I have my eye on the new Monster 696. The dealer in Nassau County Long Island (NY) wants ~$9800 for the Dark 696 (includes Registration + Tax).
Any suggestions on a dealer in NY and a good out the door price?

That seems like a good deal as far as everything else I've been hearing.
You should tell them to throw the Termi's on there and make it $10,000 even and they have a deal.

Williamsville Competition near Buffalo, NY. Great guy and a fair deal. He's not getting many 696's and I know some are already spoken for, so not sure what he's going to have left.
bump.
I got mine for $8,250, by accident.
The dealer sold me a 08 695 that's already been sold to another customer.
Dealer offered me a 09 696 for a 08 695 price. $500 off
I got the best deal of my life ;D
