Hi All,
I put a new chain and sprockets on my bike (2005 M1000s) and two days later, I found the below part in my driveway. At first I thought it was a washer for the rear axle nut, but it doesn't fit around the rear axle.
Is it a washer or spacer for the countershaft sprocket, and if so, does anyone know which one? Or is it just some piece of trash I found in my driveway? In case you can't tell from the picture, it has about a 28mm outside diameter, and is about 1mm thick.
I'd appreciate any help that anyone can offer.
Thanks,
James

Looks like a crush washer to me.
Do you have your bikes parts schematics? If not you can get them from Ducati.com I'd take a look at those. I've had my rear wheel off and countershaft sprocket as well (on a '00 900) and never come across a washer like that

That is the crush washer that is supposed to go around the oil drain plug on my girlfriend's Accord....
Eh, it'll probably be fine. She doesn't need to know about this one. ;D
Thanks, yuu
That's what the internet is for! [laugh] [laugh]

Bwaaah bwaaah bwaaaahh. Well if after the next time she parks in your drive... there's a little puddle of oil, it won't be a *mystery* leak. Or will it?

Ummmm... I'd stick that sucker on there. I know it's a bit of a pain, since you'll have to do an oil change again, but having that drain plug back out while she's elsewhere is going to be a bit more of a pain.

Don't be silly. He can't go admit to screwing up an oil change. Besides, crush washers aren't all *that* necessary... :P
haha i've done that before.... the car was fine until the next oil change when I put it back on.
