I thought I'd start this thread to see if there was any interest in posting pictures, eBay sales, internet finds, etc. and related fantasies about the above for the DFWM gang.
Here is my first contribution: an eBay ad for a gently used '96 900 SuperSport Sport Production:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1996-Ducati-900-Supersport-SS-SP-freshly-serviced_W0QQitemZ180461816604QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_motorcycles?hash=item2a045ccb1c#v4-36 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1996-Ducati-900-Supersport-SS-SP-freshly-serviced_W0QQitemZ180461816604QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_motorcycles?hash=item2a045ccb1c#v4-36)
Sorry I am getting this off to such a crap start, but I can't copy or download any of the images from the eBay ad. [bang]
Has anyone else here figured out how to do that?
http://www.ncrfactory.com/eng/html/15.00.shtml (http://www.ncrfactory.com/eng/html/15.00.shtml)
Pick one.
sheeeiiiiiiitttttttt... If I started listing every bike I'm drooling over, DFWM would be over 100,000 posts. ;D
For starters, there's a yellow 749R in ABQ. Just sayin'...
Here how to copy image from ebay using firefox.
Right click on page, select "View Page info"
Click "Media" tab
Scroll to the image you want, there is a preview.
Right click and copy image location.

I 'drool' over a 900SS with supermono fairing. I dream of it nightly. With lightweight wheels, upgraded brakes, and motor work. And sweet, sweet paint.
I'd like a Bostrom, and an MH990e, & a Paso, and the new Bayliss replica, and...
I'll take the Macchia Nera please.
Quote from: Duc L'Smart on January 27, 2010, 06:02:14 AM
MH990e, ...Bayliss replica...
Absolutely to the MH900e. Gorgeous. Electrical gremlins be damned, I can rewire it if need be.
Bayliss replica, absolutely. But not a 1098/1198 version, I want a race replica of the 996 era bikes, like the Infostrada.

In fact the frame color on that bike reminds me of the 900ss.
Stuart has my '70's model 900ss (the original) 'drool' bike. Now, just prying his sticky little fingers away from it is the main problem.

Negatory, good buddy. I like the new 1098R Bayliss [moto] [thumbsup] ;D
DLS has bin sniffing around this one too...

I like the 1098R, but don't like the new flashy graphics as much. I really don't like the Hayden 848. I'd rather get one that looks like the all white Stoner race paint job. That was slick.

I'd love a Bimota. Really drool worthy looking.
Saw that one when we dropped by Erico Motorsport in Denver on the way home a couple of weeks ago. Lovely machine [wine]

I think you are posting in the wrong thread. Were you looking for "Two Words"?I take that back...there are no rules in this thread...only fantasies....<drool> ;D
The first in a series of Punter's cheap and tawdry displays:
Gentlemen and ladies, I ask you: Is the (sadly neglected) Supersport 1000DS not droolworthy?

I like that bike... A LOT. There's a little bit too much "curvy" in the numbers+pipes+bellypan. If a little bit of that was straightened out a bit I think it would look less busy and even better.
Of course, I get to armchair quarterback this because its not my bike. [cheeky]

Pierre confused "trendy" with "style".
RESULT: Brief polarizing success doomed to FAIL over time.
I think either the Terblanche era Supersport or his Multistrada was the epitome of this process.
Much like taking in a fine meal, once Pierre "digested" the concept at hand, the result was predictable...

From a Transformer movie? ???
Never seen the Vyrus/Tesi before?
But I don't understand the top bike, which has what looks like an oil cooler behind front wheel (fine and dandy) but also a radiator mounted low on the side (don't low side!) - It appears to be a radiator and has blue tubing and bent tubing, but notice, the alternator side cover is an air-cooled and not watercooled side. So its appears not to be based on an ST2 water-cooled motor, and not sure what pumps the coolant? Perhaps its a secondary oversized oil cooler, but the line size seems wrong. Something has to disperse the heat on a 984, that's for sure.

Note the inscription on the front swingarm (front
swingarm?!? did I just say that?): "983C
3.4V" - It's a Desmoquattro water pumper, I think, but bedamnedifIknow where a 982 cc 4-valve Ducati engine came from....
I see now that its a 4V, but that doesn't lend any additional info as to where it might be pumping from. I see no waterpump, just some odd tubing going sideways across the alternator cover. It looks like that bike would be a REAL pregnant dog to work on. More so than nearly any other DB-series Bimota that could be serviced at a Ducati dealer without much need for a shop manual.
It is an odd Duc, to be sure....
