As I was heading to work yesterday the odometer hit the 10,000 mile mark and I have to say I was pretty proud of the accomplishment. My goal had had been to get 10,000 miles in the first year on my 695 and I beat the deadline by almost two weeks. When I first purchased the bike I was pretty concerned about the bike's reliability especially after all the posts on the old DML but it has proven dead reliable. [moto]
Congrats! [thumbsup]
wow, 10k on a duc huh? did the odo roll back to 1?
;D

Yes. Ruined the resale value.
Glad to hear it. I hope I live long enough to put 10,000 miles on my Monster !
your lucky to show 10k. my bike has around 11 on it now, but the highest ive seen on the odometer is just over 6400. and thats when i had to replace my gauges and start over. i have about 5100 on there now, and thats all i show but its really over 11k.
Grats my S2R1k just hit 10k as well. That and my KLR just hit 7k this year so I've been busy. :D

Congrats and good on ya for putting your Monster to good use. Way to go! Now keep going and don't look back. You should get many thousands of trouble-free miles out of your Duc so don't worry about it one bit. Remember that the main focus of these boards is to hash out problems so you're not likely to hear all the good stories of those of us with many perfectly reliable and happy Ducati miles under our belts. As for me, I've got 15k on the Multistrada, 10k on the 900SS, and I just hit 1k on the new Tricolore and I don't expect any problems in racking up tons of miles on any of them as the years go on. Only problem is, it's hard to put a lot of miles on each one when you're dividing your time up among them. Guess I'll just have to drink more coffee and Red Bull and cram more riding time into each day! There could be worse problems! [moto]
Glad you've had a good experience. On a recent trip, my 'ol M750 clicked over 28,000. You've got many happy miles ahead of you!

my 916 had almost 22,000 miles on it, looked and ran like new.
if a 916 can do it, a 695 will damn sure make it there.
Little side note, i met a 78 year old dude today at the local bike shop, and he has had the same bike for 25 years :o never owned another bike. thing was mint
