That's right, a valve adjustment in the kitchen. That is all.

You know you can do a valve adjustment with the engine still in the bike right?
;D
With the additional buying power from getting married, I have a four car garage. :-*
You don't have to be a single man to enjoy this.
Mother changing the oil in his bike in my kitchen:

Mother's bike getting ready for a valve check (and in its winter storage spot):

If we could fit my S2R in there as well, we would.
Nice. The tool box lives next to the fridge.

Yeah I know, but I live on the second floor and the elevator is too small to fit my bike in. Plus pulling the engine gives me the opportunity to give it a good cleaning and to clean up the wiring harness.
Great pics [thumbsup]
sigh
i remember those days
my wife's tastes in interior design do not permit the "engine in the living room" anymore.
i cannot begin to describe the look on her face years ago when an engine showed up on a skid courtesy of UPS -- delivered to our upper east side 7th floor apartment. I might as well have aborted a calf, pureed it and smeared it on the walls.
Your wife and mine would get along great. :P Hell, she doesn't even want my scooters in the garage! If I move her car out to make room in the garage to work on bikes some sort of secret internal alarm goes off and she's at the garage door in a nano second asking me why her car is now in the driveway and just how long will it be there. Like it's going to freaking melt or something?? [bang] Me saying that it just wants to hang outside in the sunshine and chill with my car in the driveway goes nowhere... My car has never been in the garage and it's doing just fine. Garages (and living rooms and kitchens) are for bikes not cars. [thumbsup]
Guess I'm in the minority then. :-\
Anything with a motor is welcome anywhere in my house. 8)

You may represent the ideal woman to this crowd.

Must be great to be able to reach over and grab a wrench or a slice of cold pizza at the same time.
Several years ago, before we were married, it was my wife's idea to bring in my Monster for the winter.
I had it infront of the fireplace.
I'd still do it, but was sick of the gas smell. It eventually went away, but sucked for a few weeks
and
we use the fireplace frequently, so it wouldn't work out too well.
I lowered my headlight and gauges in the kitchen. As well as a tail chop and modified belt covers in my old kitchen.

When I walked in my newest apartment to look at it, my first thoughts were "My bike is going to fit perfect right there."

And you were all worried I would say "no". Silly boy.
Next winter, its my bike's turn to be in the kitchen though. [thumbsup]

Been looking at loft condos downtown and I have found 3 that I would take in a heartbeat...
One is 4th floor right next to an old freight elevator which is right inside the handicap access rear entrance (i.e. there is a nice gradual ramp). It has a jack and jill bathroom and the "Jill" side would make a perfect storage and display location for both bikes with plenty of room for working on em.
One is first floor with a mezzanine and a perfect spot to park 2 bikes under the stairs leading up that combined with the 18 foot ceilings makes for a fun little bachelor pad!
And the third one literally is a former machine shop that has been quartered into 4 condos...ground level...each one has a garage door leading into it...think Nicolas Cage's loft in Ghost Rider...

It doesn't normally live there, it's just a temporary residence.
Picked up shims and valve seals today. Time to start putting it back together.
i sure hope my bf is happy he's NOT single.
i spent 3 hrs prepping his car engine to be shipped from hawaii to detroit. he's out of state for the month, n his friend is supposed to come over n do it. but no call all week. at least they had the motor pulled apart. he gave me instructions n the block n heads r crated up, waiting for pick up.
i tell u, what some girls go through for guys! jk, [cheeky]
We own a 67 Triumph Bonneville and the other day my wife says, "When is the Triumph moving back into the living room?"
I answer, "When I get the ignition fixed and it is running again." To which she answers, "Well hurry it up and get it back in there."
The moral of this little story is; we don't have a big enough kitchen for the Triumph so it has to live in the living room. And marriage ain't so bad if you marry the right woman. :)
