Hey guys, I posted over in the "old forum" and was informed that all the cool kids hang out over here. I dont own a Monster as of yet, but i've got a bank check burning a hole in my pocket and my eye on one. Hopefully in the next week or so Ill have myself a Monster. Oh.. It will be my first motorcycle too. Im pretty much a car guy. Old Mopars is my main game but I can definitly get into the Monster scene. looking forward to it.
see you all around
Joe
what cc monster are you looking at Joe?
you are all going to tell me i'm crazy for my first bike, but its an S2R1000. Ive ridden before, just plan on taking it REAL easy till i get used to it. Im just know myself and dont want to grow out of it in 6 mos. I'd consider an 800 as well if the price was right. I wont go to an S4R, that is just to much.
Nice man.. Do it!
Hey Joe... welcome
Welcome Joe, good luck and have fun, don't forget shiny side up. ;)
Thanks for the welcome guys.. cant wait to get my bike. Ill keep you all posted with pics when I get one.
Welcome to where all the cool kids are! ;D [thumbsup]
Glad you could make it! Was I the one who PM'd you? I've shot so many PMs over the last couple of weeks trying to get people to realize that the Monster community isn't as unwelcoming as some other forums make it seem. :-\
Go for it on the bike. Just keep that throttle hand nice and easy, and you'll do just fine.

Dude! good choice! I was told not to get sometning too small on the cc side because you'll outgrow it quickly; I ended up buying a M 800 ie; Im very happy ; lots to learn driving on urban roads, the bike and how it handles; wise advice I got from a number of people; take you time get to know the bike and enjoy the learning; I have been forever humbled by the skills that are needed, and as you learn you better appreciate the machine, beware of the and power of a high preformance bike.
never be in a hurry
beer and bikes dont mix
always be rested and alert
take a motorcycle skills course
be humble with & on your bike
enjoy riding; dont be a statistic
remember your the volnerable one on the road ... congrats; there amazing motorcycles and better appreciated when riden; cheers Dave
PS you also find threres tones of modifications you can do on your s4r .... its easy to catch the bug ...

Great choice...and remeber to be safe! There is a whole lot under that hood, give it some time before finding out how much!
Thanks for the advice everyone, I have no intention of doing any wheelies anytime soon. Ill probably grandma this thing around for a while and get used to it.
