Guys, got home today and my garage door has been forced open(two deadlocks). Ducati has been taken as well as a couple of pushbikes. Looks to be inside job from someone in the complex as i have my garage completely 'blacked out' so that you cannot see in..... To exit the complex a buzzer is also required. I still have all the keys to the bike.
If anyone sees a red/white S2R 1000, open belt covers, Termi system, red/gold clutch, white wheels, can you let me know?? I'm looking to break some knees over this.
Don't know what else to say, i'm feeling a little flat :-\
That is rotten mate.
Do these people know what your day/night job is ???
I am sure you have already told your insurance, little comfort I am sure.
A friend of mine had two bikes nicked at Pearl Beach over Christmas, he ended up employing one of the "locals"
and hey presto they were both back in two days.
Mate that is terrible news! What area? >:(
sorry to hear, hope you find it soon, and the scumbags are dealt with ...
Hmm, the employing a local is interesting.... May actually look into that.
In Sutherland area. Happened between 12.30pm and 1300pm today.
sorry to hear that mate.
best of luck and give em a good kicking when you get em.
[thumbsup]
I know it's a long shot, but if anyone hears of any random S2R 1000's turning up around town for some 'maintenance work' can you let me know....
If it gets completely chopped then it's gone, but if they just change the front end it will still sound the same.... I know, long shot [bow_down]
Long shots are always worth playing I know I'll be keeping my eyes out as I am sure everyone here will.
Photo?
Hmm, can't pull a pic off my computer... Mattvas, do you have a pic of my bike somewhere??

???? Old picture. Now has termi stickers, open belt covers, short carbon beer tray, bar end mirrors, no front flyscreen
And no, i wasn't posing for that shot!!
THAT REALLY SUCKS !!
Just goes to show that if some low life really wants your ride then they will get to it, someone must have been watching your movements for a while because that is a very narrow window of opportunity, half an hour, I've been thinking about Data Dots and that other one that can track your bikes movements when it doesnt have its key in.
I reckon someone must know something, get a proper bastard to 'lean' on a few people, it may crack a few people.
Mmick
Mick, if you know anyone that can 'lean', let me know. I may be on the blue side, but when the duc is stolen i'll go either side......
I'm being serious about that. Willing to pay $$ for help. I know i can get another bike, but i really really like the one i had [bang]
I told the private investigator (employed by the insurer to see if I was legit) the same thing, $, told him if he needed to grease palms to get info I will gladly pay.
Hadn't seen it before, nice bike, great looking pipes and headers!
Vince, Matty and I'm sure others will have ebay/bikesales covered for you.
Would greatly appreciate it. Money isn't really an issue to me in this case. As i said, i really do like that bike.... The headers are fairly unusual, and very clean(i like autosol ;D ). I'm going to call the Ducati mechanics in Sydney tomorrow to ask them to keep an eye out, long shot. Thanks spider
(un)fortunately, I removed myself from that side many years ago, and I have not seen or heard from them since.
Mmick
hmmm, that is a shame...
hey mate, that sucks to hear about your bike.
Make sure you let all the local dealers, duc mechanics, and groups know - all the DOC's, flywheels, gowies, desmo clinic, frasers, northside, duc penrith, sydney dyno, technik, terry hay's, zeno etc etc...
it's all worth a try.
Goldy, that was my planned job for today. Fun weekend for me [roll]
I can only Imagine the pain and stress this has caused you White Lion, here's hoping for a good Outcome [thumbsup]

glad to hear that mate.ok lets concentate on catching the c%.ts
so you left today being a saturday assuming your off duty and whamo its been taken
without keys.thats telling me they definatly wanted a motobike plus there had to of been more than
one guy plus a ute/trailer involved(seeing they took other stuff as well).there had to have been someone
see them pull up.what im sus about is the oppertunaty taken.obviously someone in the complex....
yeah that's a bugger.. i'd be asking all the neighbours.. you never know?? good luck.
mic
Yeah, started doing my own doorknock. Nothing yet. I've been making a lot of calls, official and non-official, i'm really becoming fairly obsessed with this investigation.....Not letting it go easily [evil]
Good on ya Hugh, I wish you good luck in your hunting!
You said they also took some mtb, did they leave anything of worth behind?
I had my mtb stolen in a similar way many years ago, but they left a lot of valuable stuff behind (and also broke into a neighbours at the same time, stealing his mtb). I assumed it was kids.
Stealing a moto is a very difference story. Did it have any locks on it (even the steering lock?)
Took my MTB and Karla's MTB. Left the triumph.... ;D
They didn't take any spare parts to the Duc,including the original exhaust system which was hanging next to it on the wall or any of the original parts. I'm off the opinion that the guys that stole it all were sent by someone else to obtain the Duc, and anything else in the garage they could keep. Pushbikes are the obvious item to take for a moron.. They don't have any of the keys, steering lock was on. Also stole my brand new track stand [bang]
Upgrades to the garage in the future: Three dead bolts(not just the one) on the garage door, dyno-bolted pivot points in the floor of the garage.
I do have an angle to look into but until i've done that i'm keeping that close to my chest...... Will keep you all posted on that one.
That sucks. [bang]

x2. Hope you find em and give em a good flogging.
sorry to hear this Hugh, just hope it turns up for you
That's terrible news
I hope you get your bike back in one piece and get to serve some old fashion
[evil] backyard justice
on those thieving scum .
Insurance guy came today and interviewed me. He was an ex-cop so it all went smoothly. Hopefully it will be finalised within a week or two [moto]
Is this in an apartment complex or townhouse?
Are there any tradespeople that have been working there recently?
I had a 2 week old $800 lawn mower stolen from my backyard. No one would have ever known it was there and i couldn't figure out why they came specifically for that and nothing else.
The it clicked. There were tradesmen working on the roof of a house behind us who had a birds eye view. Ba$tards!
Hugh this is just so sad! :'(
Hope you catch the mongrel. >:(
I think I better lock my bike up from now on.
If you need any help give us a hoy! [thumbsup]
Rob
Just so you guys don't think that i've forgotten about my S2R, a quick update:
Can't give specific details but i can say that there is a direction that is being investigated, that is possibly a very strong direction....
Sorry about no details, will update when i can. I'm seen as the Victim, not the police so I have to pretend that I know nothing [leo]
mate I hope it comes out with you getting ur bike back - unscathed
and the scumbags put very slowly through a woodchipper - alive...
[thumbsup]
Mr S2R you also have to ensure they go through the Woodchipper feet first!

When I read that I immediately thought of Fat Tony's (aka Joe Mantegna) voice [laugh] [laugh]
Just got word back, that direction has run into a dead end. No dice. Looks like i am almost out of answers....
Mate that is sad to hear. Don't give up hope, maybe the [leo] will find something - hopefully! :)

So, you've dropped round the other house and said "I saw some guys working on your roof, I need some work done too, have you got their business card?" right?
big
Might be something in that about roofers.
My mate was busy at the hospital hatching a new baby on Friday
roofers working next door with a clear view of his back shed
comes home someone's been in said shed and brand new $1000 Penn game reel
has vanished.
Hmm, ongoing theme here. Let someone you don't know look through your property and after a while shit starts going missing..... Just because you live in an apartment complex with someone doesn't mean they're not a thief..... [coffee]
spot on Hugh, gambling and drug addictions are very easy to conceal from the public at most stages of it.
