That is awesome! How big was the boat?
I sailed quite a bit with a bunch of DMF'rs out in San Francisco. We had grand ideas of renting a boat for a week and flying down to the Caribbean or Baja. I moved back east, another guy is riding around Asia, and another guy broke his pelvis... it never happend.
I'm looking forward to spring and summer more for sailing than riding around here.
nice! its better than sitting around here waiting for snow to melt. :(

This is the club we belong to: www.myc.org (//http://) (//http://)
Let me know if you would like more info about the club.
Looks like a tough life!!! Someone has to do it I guess. [thumbsup]
I sailed the BVI on a teen tour! A fleet of six 42' Ketches, co-ed boats, full of 16 year olds! It was at least as decadent as you might imagine [evil]
Anyways, back on topic. Anybody can call me anytime to come sailing. I'm experienced & would love to tag along.

I don't have my skipper rating yet. Hoping to successfully challenge it this summer then I can take guests! We typically sail out of the World Financial Center marina.
Skipper rating huh? Nobody ever asked me for a sailing license before. In Marina Del Rey, CA I'd give'em a credit card and sail away on a 24'. Of course the boat had a wooden tiller and came rigged but they didn't even wonder aloud if I knew what I was doing. [roll]

looks like fun..

That is how we rolled out in the Bay. My buddy who has sailed only a few times bought a boat and we went out and had fun. I crewed on a few other peoples boats and learned by watching and asking questions. I guess if I had the extra cash taking a class would be really nice. Back in the day when my grandfather and mother used to race on lake Michigan they said the Coast Guard would have free classes for certifications... I dont know if they do that around here, or anymore for that matter.
I am assuming CDawg means he needs his skipper rating to take out his yacht club's boats, not to rent one from a private party.

Yup. Also, I believe the USCG still give lessons in the summer time. If I hear of it, I'll post it here.
