Dammit Cloner! Get back to me when you get a HERO member. Slandering the SPH will not be tolerated! And good luck getting the wife to let you go sporting signature lines like THAT! Ya make us look like a bunch of hooligans. :o
So, I can alter my usual schedule, give up some sailing time here in the East, and spend a little time in the Rockies in early August on my Monster with a bunch of marginal personalities?
This is truly tempting.

I've been flying quite a bit. Had to do the "Haitian Vacation" for a couple weeks delivering supplies. Doesn't look like I'm going anywhere for a while. Also, I started a new band called "The Herde" We are supposed to be playing a few gigs next month at the Monte Vista Fire House on Central, the Barley Room on north Eubanks, and the Atomic Cantina downtown. The one address says it sleeps 10. With a 3 night minimum at $325 a night and 10 Hooligans staying, that would work out to $97.50 a piece for the 3 night stay. That would be a great deal ($32.50 a night). Can't beat that. All that's needed is 10 Hooligans who could stand each other for 3 nights. That might be the hard part. [laugh] [laugh]

Ouray is a great place to ride!
No amount of night time snoring or farting will deter me from my daily appointed rounds of delivering the mail on the local roads!..... [leo] But it is a little tough tossing envelops into those little slots while tucked in behind the wind screen.... [laugh]
Im down! Wats a round about time frame we're talking?
DITR is Ducati in the Rockies, Kwaker. It's the first weekend of August, and you don't have to ride a Ducati to attend....though some unsavory characters (like Karl) might give you grief for showing up on "off brand" equipment. ;D
It's a weekend long event, so bring a change of underwear.

Here is what's still available:
1951 Main Street
•This townhome is 1800sf, 3 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. There is a full private bath inside of each bedroom. Each bedroom has a queen size bed.
•Plasma screens, satellite TV and DVD in the livingroom and master bedroom
•Oversized soaking tub in the master bath
•Single car garage
•Fireplace
•A/C
•Granite countertops, Travertine flooring
•Sleeps 6
1943 Main Street
•This townhome is 1800sf, 3 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. There is a full private bath inside of each bedroom. Two sets of bunk beds in one bedroom, queens in the other two bedrooms, sofa sleeper in the livingroom
•Plasma screens, satellite TV and DVD in the livingroom and master bedroom
•Oversized soaking tub in the master bath
•Single car garage
•Fireplace
•Sleeps 10
Total cost for 3 nights is $1,115 incl. fees and taxes for either set up.
This means the folks occupying the bedrooms would pay $280 per bedroom and the remaining 4 folks
occupying the couch and the bunk beds would pay $70 per person for a 3 night stay if we have 10 folks staying there.
Let me know who is interested in what and I will see if we can pull this off.

Barbara and I are pretty much decided on passing on our June trip to ABQ and coming out in August for DITR. I assume that there are things to do for a non-rider like Barbara besides intoxication and debauchery.
Oh yes, she won't be the only one along without a cycle of her own. It's a quaint little mountain town we decend on.

This always makes me sad. I still consider myself part of the NMMR, but I really like to stay with the main group. One of these years, maybe the organizers will take a vote to see where the majority want to stay before they set it up. The little pockets of Ducatisti spread out all over town just doesn't pack the same punch as when everyone congregates at one location.
We are a block away.. We could scream out the open window and you will hear us.. Its not like we are going to hide in the room only.. Like last year, it was ride, bs, drink, talk, sleep... We will drink, party eat, shoot the shit with the main.> Then sleep in condo.. :)
Miss you bon.. :)

Are 1943 Main Street
•This townhome is 1800sf, 3 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. There is a full private bath inside of each bedroom. Two sets of bunk beds in one bedroom, queens in the other two bedrooms, sofa sleeper in the livingroom

Are you ready to [moto]
Pam and I secured the condo with the following sleeping arraignments:
The two bedrooms with private bathrooms are occupied by Nic and Barbara
and Pam and myself at a cost of $300 for all three nights.
The third bedroom has four bunk beds occupied by Ed (bottom bunk), Stew and Jim with one spot still available
at a total cost of $135 for the three night stay.
Matt and Krystle would occupy the pull out couch for a combined total of $200 for three nights.
Finding another participant to occupy the remaining bunk bed will translate into an even lower cost.
Your feedback and opinion would be appreciated.
Can't wait to see you there [moto]

Since this is my first DITR, a few questions:
- What's the temperature range that can be expected? I don't own full leathers (and current finances preclude a purchase), but I'm thinking of bringing along my all-weather 1-piece. Otherwise, it's Draggin Jeans, an Alpinestars jacket and, of course, a rain suit.
- Any amateur muscians in the group? I can bring along my Baby Taylor guitar and a few harmonicas in Pam's van.

Duck-Stew rules! Showed up with some "test" spark ignitors and bike fired right up. I will be cruising north in the morning.
And thanks to Zaster for the company and support.
Gee, I feel almost as excited as Mouse.

Great! I'm glad to hear it! I hope everyone has a safe trip! Monster 0 - Stew 1...
Woo hoo!!!
So, in this lesson, did everyone learn to pack away 2...or four plugs when they travel?
What happens when you have no fire, but lots of fuel...foul!!!!!
I always have two extra (I have a four valve.. Me not so smart) when I ride.
Bikes live on, air, fuel & fire. They have NO heart, regardless of anyones belief that they (your bike) may be your soul mate. Keep it simple, like stu did here.
Nic, I love everyone here, but your journey will be the one that makes me smile each day.
RAGE ON HOOLIGANS !
And, KB, I am very remiss for not publicly giving you a shout out for your very generous offer to lend me your bike. Me? An Italian guy from NY. Hey, can you spell chop shop?
No, seriously thank you to all the NMMRers who were helpful and supportive the last 2 days. It will make this ride so much sweeter.

Have a safe ride everybody!

We do, too! Missing everyone who couldn't make it...but there is always next year! Start planning now! Same time, same place!

Here Scott, you will have an update from Matt with a video...Simply, it is the best ride ever! Never miss it again!!! Another beautiful day to cruise... [moto]
I'm back all safe and sound and stuff.
The Michelin men on the sides of my rear 150/70/17 Pilot Road have been sacrificed to the gods of speed on CO145 which is a nice road w/a 45mph limit and 45mph corners. We were attacking it between 80-95. There's a mechanical limit to the speed that can be carried on a Triumph Legend on that road. It's 80-95mph. [evil]
It rains a lot in CO. Rain-gear is a necessity.
There's DAMN good beer in Ouray, CO. Like 15% beer.
Ouray is a gorgeous town nestled in the mountains. Frickin' Wow-zers...
Roads are great to unbelievable and in good shape too.
I'll be back next year for damn sure! Hehehehe.... [evil]
You don't have to wait till next year! Let me know if you plan on rolling through and I'll give you some great lunch recommendations.

JJ did...Was a blast [moto] Ouray!!! Thanks a ton! [thumbsup] Waiting on pics and videos! [beer]
So far, no one has my camera so it may actually be lost in Ouray. Oh well, it wasn't super special or anything....
I made it back yesterday, but next year (and yes...I'll be back next year) I'm taking at least Friday and Monday off. Might make it a 5-day actually.
Did precious little work today. Just hung around fighting off the haze that clouded my mind waiting for 4:30pm... Drove the van. Trumpy's dirty-as-hell. I'm beat (still). My neck hurts & I've got 2 knots in my lower back too.
And let me state for the record: I'd do it all again and more in a minute...most likely less than a minute. It was an EPIC weekend of comeraderie, riding, drinking, scenery and just awesomeness... Loved it all. [thumbsup]
And 2ndly for the record: I was indeed successful in scrubbing ALL the little Michelin men off my 150/70/17 rear Pilot Road and I now KNOW where the limits of that '99 Legend TT chassis are. Wow...were we flyin'!
Oh Stuart, were you pushing it with the same suspension that I saw on the TT last time you came through Outback or did you manage the upgrades before you left? If so, I've never seen anyone go after the Michlin man in a recliner. Must been interesting. [cheeky]
DITR was SUPER fun! [thumbsup]
The roads were awesome, the scenery was "knock your socks off", and the people were enthusiastic, knowledgeable crazy enough to be interesting and the bikes were running on "Starship Power!"
Mother nature gave us a little rain but also enough time between wet downs to ride the roads.
Making the event happen was the work of some special people. [bow_down] For example, Pam and Karl did a superb job of hosting for the NM group! Keith and Brian were mechanical rescuers deluxe and there were many more contributors that others can nominate.
A good event is the combined result of the efforts of the folks involved and this year there were many. Thanks to all of you who played a role in making it all happen! [clap]
+1 DucDog [bow_down] to Pam and Karl.
Stu, your camera was stolen by the elf that took my glasses.
I thought it was the Monkees at "The Dirty Bar"......They're sneeky like that Ya' know!!
Great time. First of all, Barb and I knew we would enjoy the company of all of you whom we've met here in ABQ the last year. Then there were the new locals, like Dr. Amazing, better known as Duck-Stew. Pam and Karl did a first class job of making arrangements and following through. Gee, I wish Pam could cook (just kidding!).
The scenery speaks for itself. Riding up to Gateway and on over to Delta Saturday, I had to remind myself not to get hypnotized.
Riding? Well, I am slow, and my old girl of a bike ain't that fast, either. But, for the most part, I rode well, concentrated on being smooth and enjoying myself. I am realistic enough to know I wasn't going to keep up with most of you, but I *was still riding*. This is not the type of riding I get to do back east, so I'm still learning. Plus, I am also used to riding alone, so I never got a feeling of being left out. Hey- if you're on a Ducati in Colorado, something must be right.
It was great seeing Bonfy and Dusty again, and meeting some of the Denver crowd. KRJ is a mensch. Lee from Oregon is a great rider and a great guy.
Put me down for next year.
Been checking the forum every other minute for pics and videos...! Where are they, memories are fading, need to keep them alive!
Now for official compliments, firstly to all who made it for supporting and making it the trip we will never forget! Then to the crucial people...Pam and Carl...I'm not sure how to thank you both enough! Pam kept the kitchen running feeding as many that showed up...Amazing effort, we could take off on time and have a great ride everyday! Carl, for organizing a fabulous vacation! Ed- the man on fire, made great plans and showed us how a real life is lead! Matt and Ducmouse, for capturing the moments on a super videocam that can be watched on a fat BIG screen! Nick and Barbara for the great company and support. Nick played some amazing blues on his little guitar! Stew was his pleasant best! Skinner for bringing the blowup creature into our life...Jim had a role to show things can be crazy, nuts and still twine together! ;)
Rest, thanks for having me be a part of your life for few good days to remember! [beer]
Barb took some pictures which I will post as soon as I get the correct USB cable to download the photos from her camera.
Thanks for everyone's participation and support in making our DITR 2010 a memorable event [thumbsup]

Hope everyone had a great time (I know I did...keeping up with the BMWs of Micah and Willy was some fun but also some work) and looking forward to next year.

ZLTFUL, Thanks for all You did, I overslept sun. morn. and wished someone had called to wake Me, apparently You had it under control. Bonfy, Charlie and I had a good ride home, seen Nick in Gunnison when We stopped for fuel, Charlie caught 285 in Poncha, Bonfy stopped to visit Shannon and the Critters, then headed Home. I had a great time, nice to meet new people and see some old friends again!!.. And the riding was fun also, between the mud washes, rocks, sheep and rain it was still a good experiance.. I must commend Bonfy on Her tenacity and strong will, and Stuart, Dusty, Nick, and Lee for Their support in an awkward situation, Thats what makes riding with This Group a pleasure...more to come...
a BIG thx to Karl and Pam for all that you guys did...

It all started with the glowing green meteorite:
Sure had fun riding with Rosemary, Stuart, Nic, KRJ, and Lee. We ended up splitting up with the larger group after I did my usual Jorge stunt. But the bike was still ridable and I was still ridable, so we pressed on. Once I got used to riding with crooked handlebars, things shaped up fine....
On the way to Gateway, Rosemary and Stuart split off and followed the gang coming in the opposite direction. KRJ, Lee, Nic, and I made it over there and on the way back, KRJ and I stopped at the motorcycle shop in Montrose to pick up a tire...which I was wearing around my waist when my tire blew.
At that point, KRJ ran on ahead to Ouray to arrange a rescue mission. Ryan (ZLitFul) stepped right up to the plate and came to collect the bike and I with his trailer. He threw that tire on in no time flat the next morning for which he will have my eternal gratitude.
The ride home was uneventful, but I enjoyed it anyway. [laugh]

Mods done to the Legend before Ouray:
Kawasaki ZX9R rear shock
Added 2 1/2" inches of spring pre-load to the front end
Lowered the forks another 0.400" in the triples
Completed my modified 3-into-1 exhaust system w/the Remus can.
The poor Michelin man...destroyed... What did he ever do to me?!? [evil]

Ahhh... well from what you listed, compared to the last time I saw it I'm not surpised. I remember sitting on it reminded me of my old land ladies El Dorado Barritz... a '76 I believe it was. You sank into it the same way. [laugh] Nicely done though, it's always fun when the unexpected comes smokin around a corner keeping up with bikes it has no business keeping up with. I've always been a fan of sleepers.
I rode Stu's Trumpet. It's actually quite fun once you get used to the upright riding position (which took about three turns). It feels like a heavy, mushy dirtbike.....you attack the turns and square them off rather than plowing into them like you would on a sportbike. ;) Nice engine...plenty of torque on tap down low and smooth 'til the power drops off near redline.
All-in-all, the bike feels pretty good with its pipe on the ground, or passing your own MH900e on the outside of a left hander...until you spot a deer on the side of the road. [evil] :o [moto] [bacon]

I'm thinking the Dragon will still be seeing use. It will be a more ridable bike, for normal usage. I'm thinking of building a beast. Something fast and pretty dedicated. I am thinking the that the Dragon may see use as a loaner for outta town without bike peeps as well. I know you'll probably hate the idea of others on him but hey. [drool] I'm a droolng idiot. [laugh]
