If you are 'into' wine you may want to consider having some fun and attend one of these regular events. Francios & Co. at Le Cave (near AMS) is a great sommelier as is his son who puts on a fun display of popular wines at each tasting. They usually have some crackers and cheeses and such to complement the selections. They carry an excellent variety wines and have some of the most excellent French as well as collectable wine values around. This is a great chance to enhance your knowledge of wines as you can ask any question and get an expert answer.
There is a free wine tasting Saturday the 27th Feb. See below for details...

Should we bring our own paper bags?
I'd bring a car to take home all the wine you'll be buying! [thumbsup] This place is a fantastic find. Francios is very nice and the "warehouse" is well stocked. That is if you're into the wine thing. lol [laugh]
I spend too much moola on Ducs for this. [cheeky]
I have sworn off the grape. Histamines and I do not mix well. [bang]
Now, if there were a tequila-tasting somewhere around here, I would show up with a designated driver....
I am thinking I'll put this thread on a wine forum anyway. Thanks for looking.
So what about we have a beer tasting at The Monk?
If you move this thread to a wine forum, please post a link to it. I look forward to reading how a wine forum handles a thread titled "I'm a Snob!"
Some anticipated reactions:
"Red. Clever name, but belies the self assertion that you are a snob. A snob would have named themselves 1787 Chateau Lafite."
"Obviously we are snobs, we're sommeliers!"
"As in Red Fox, right? Yeah, that's what I thought. Pass that mad dog 20/20 pregnant dog."
[laugh] [laugh]
I'm cracking up!! [laugh] [laugh] [clap]
...but LaFite are too big!
