In this thread Here (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=34787.0) we had a little discussion going about replacing CC footpegs. I decided I would draw them up and get a quote on having some made. I have modeled it up and I need to know if it looks right. I have 1 peg to measure but the outside is ground off, so I'm kind of guessing at the overall length, and what the outer end should look like. I have asked for someone to post a picture and an overall length but I haven't seen it yet.
Here is what I have
(http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p295/jproct/footpeg.jpg)
Right now I have the length of the foot portion at 75mm (2.95In) and the overall lenght is 81mm (3.2In)
can those of you who have them look this over and let me know what changes are needed?
I would also like to know who is interested and what colors we need so I can get a proper quote.
Thanks
My measurements with a simple tool:
(might not be totally accurate)
75/81 mm is correct
Widest part 25mm
The part that goes into the peg carrier, 15mm
For me, they have worked much better with homemade knurls on the widest part, the ring on the outer edge.
Silver and black will do fine, I guess.
Good luck - keep us posted [thumbsup]
What type of quantity are you looking to have made? Two or Four is gonna give you a fairly high cost...if you're looking at getting a few dozen made up however... ;D
QuoteWhat type of quantity are you looking to have made?
That's what I'm trying to figure out here. I know the bigger the order the lower the cost which is why i'm hoping to get alot of interest here.
I'm interested. I think I can find a couple others who are too. I'll try to get you measurements today.
I need one Cycle Cat replacement peg for my passenger. I would probably take at least three so I would have some extras.
Well I got my first quote back today and it wasn't very promising.
For 10 pieces they were about $31 ea.
and 20 pieces they were about $22 ea.
That doesn't even include anodize.
I will send it out for a few more quotes and see what comes back.
I would pay $31 in order to have a rear passenger peg. Even if it was bare aluminum. Right now my passenger just puts her foot on the foot protection piece behind the peg.
That seems pretty reasonable to me, pricing wise.
Sorry I took so long. I've been too busy. It looks like I can get these made and anodized and sell them for about $25ea or $50 per set. It will still be a couple weeks before the shop can make them. I had them build me 2 just to make sure they would work. They are a little different than the original but, they bolt right up and should work just fine. Here are a few pics, the peg in the middle is an original cycle cat peg. If you would like some please send me a pm and let me know which color and how many. Thanks

Agreed with stopintime. It can always be done by the end user with a dremel or other grinder but if you wanted to offer an upgrade to the Cycle Cat Peg, look into adding a textured lug/knurled lip to the outer edge. This is where the ball of your inside foot rests while cornering and a smooth surface is not desirable.... my apologies for being late to the party.
They pegs look great. [clap] How soon do you think they will be available to ship? I have PM'ed you my request.
Don't know if theses are the ones you're looking for, as I can't see the pics, but motowheels.com has replacement Cycle Cat foot pegs.

Those are the toe pegs though, but good to know they are available. I got the last of MotoWheels extender toe pegs GL-1 two years ago.

Puts the toe peg out a little further, for those with bigger feet.

Any idea how much further? I was going to make up some toe pegs next, but if they can still be bought maybe i'll look at making extended length pegs.
BTW, I think they were called GLE-1. They stick out, sideways, two inches measuring from the lever's outside.
They are a bit wider than ordinary Cycle Cat toe pegs because the eccentric arm is on the outside.
That was too wide for me - I reversed the peg/arm mounting so I had the eccentric arm on the inside of the lever, but then it was a little bit too short (or inboard if you understand).
If you make these - I think it's a good idea to make them less wide than the original two inches. Maybe about 1.5"
From center of arm pivot to center of toe peg is 25-26mm. Toe peg including eccentric arm is 2" wide.

Check out the pics stopintime posted. They extend the toe peg about 25mm or 1 inch. They are still available to buy from motowheels.com but since you fab'd the foot pegs why not fab the toe peg as well, a little more custom! Keep in mind, you probably don't wanna go much further than 25mm as you might encounter clearance issues with the engine case?

I will do this to a few sets just sell them for the same price on a first come first serve basis. Unless everyone want's the knurl then I can just add it to all of them.
Any progress on the replacement pegs?
Yes they are made I just need to have them annodized which I hope to have done soon.
Thanks for the update. My Cycle Cat rearsets are black, so I'd prefer black foot pegs. However, if you have trouble getting them anodized I'd gladly buy them without anodizing.
Just a general question for anyone: Are the passenger's pegs the same as the rider's pegs?
Holler when you have some ready. I'm in for a pair!
Spoke to the anodizer today and the pegs will be ready tue. or wed. So I should be shiping by the end of next week.
Heres what I have that's not already spoken for
6 Sets Black
5 Sets Silver
Please let me know if your interested I'm not sure how long they will last.
$55 Shipped per set.
Thanks

I received my pair in the mail about 2 days ago. They pegs are perfect replacements with a perfect fit. He even included the mounting screw. The knurling is a little less deep. That is about the only difference I could notice. Thank you Mr. Dude. My passenger now has somewhere to put her feet.
Just an update on what I have left
2 pair black
4 pair silver
