High speed, low speed, and a sweep adjustment on the side of it.
The sweep is pretty cool, you can adjust at what angle out from center the damper releases to help with slow speed tight turns.
That's very interesting. Is it a Scotts?
yep.

If you need some help staying out of trouble, we can keep you busy. I hear you are good at cleaning things; the car needs to be washed for Sunday (and Saturday doesn't sound like a good day to do it). That should help your cabin fever for an hour or 2... [cheeky]

Those arc-fab bikes were nuts.
That ti-frame may only save 8 lbs, but when you are looking for the last remaining few, its a good place to lose "a lot". Replacing all steel bolts with Ti will also drop about 5, depending on your bike model. carbon/kevlar braided lines instead of stainless for oil and brake will also shave a little weight. aluminum or magnesium front fairing subframe on superbikes is another spot [thumbsup]

I've thought about swapping out the clutch case side of the motor for a slotted one like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Corse-Right-Side-Engine-Cover-Ducati-749-749S-999-999S_W0QQitemZ190382769917QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item2c53b286fd (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Corse-Right-Side-Engine-Cover-Ducati-749-749S-999-999S_W0QQitemZ190382769917QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item2c53b286fd)
Any thoughts or FHE?
LT Snyder likes those for track bikes, dry clutches needing all the cooling they can get. If wet riding is in your plans, he says stick with a solid clutch cover. Either that, or get aluminum basket, clutch plates, and spring cups, billet pressure plate and stainless springs, which will cost you about a grand.
I think LT's reasoning is sound.
If you aren't regularly riding in the rain, I say go for it. If you have the plates spinning, bike warm, the tossup into the clutch - especially on your faired biked - would be minimal and would evaporate or get spun out quickly. The DP kits are magnesium, Speedymoto has a billet aluminum one, and then there's lots of companies that can "corse-slot" your stock cast aluminum part. I have also seen both the full slots (U shaped) and round-edged "boxes" cut into it. Not as much venting there, but it was still nice looking.
Very cool. Thanks for the replies [thumbsup]
I'm wiring up a K&N Air/Fuel Ratio Monitor, with a switch so I can individually look at horiz. and vertical exhaust. I'm wondering if there's a higher quality meter - like Chris told me (Chris Kelley of CA Cycleworks) - its very low-tech, and does what its supposed to, but the quality is not very high - its just an LED meter.
I know there are some nifty looking analog devices, anybody know of some decent ones? UNDER 1 grand? I'm not looking for anything other than lean/rich read out.
Here's what I'm wiring in today:
The rectangular one.
I'd like one with a smidge more detail, anybody have FHE with these? I know a lot of hot rodders use them.
I would guess there has to be something of higher quality out there for under a grand. I had a 97 turbo eclipse during college that had around 15 grand dropped into it, and the Apexi air fuel computer I used for that car was probably around 500 bucks at the time.
Its more than what you're after, but aside from being able to dial in air/fuel across the rpm band, it also had a comprehensive graph of how the car was performing and the unit was maybe the size of an iphone. I had it custom mounted in the glove box with the turbo timer. The new unit these days is the Apexi AFC-neo.
Of more use to you may be some of these options:
Halmeter AF30 ( I ran this on the car as well for a cheaper backup check on the AF ratio ) Not sure they still make these, but was acurate and reliable.
I also found these: http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/xd16.php (http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/xd16.php)
Those guages look pretty and definately under a grand.
Thanks!
I've used one of these on the race car before, very compact, true wideband.

That one looks really good. No ability to use a switch to go from one cylinder to the other using two sensors and one monitor it appears though (lots of wires in the harness for the sensor).
Suppose I would need to save up a bit and get two. That'll be a way off.
FCR41's are almost within sight - Milli is on board. Says I should think over carefully everything, so I'm going to go see if I can get Stuart to talk me out of them, and if he can't then its a done deal.

You want them.
It is like wondering if you want a Holley double-pumper on your hotrod or a wheezy vacuum secondary carb.
The difference is huge.
Trying to do the cost/benefit - the only downsides I see... well cost? That's it.
It doesn't look like the starting procedure is a big deal. Roll the throttle for some gas squirt, hit the go button. Some folks have to roll more than once.
No choke? Actually great, it will tidy up the left bar nicely - ever since i ditched the goldline masters, the choke has been wedged between the gp clutch master and the switch housing. It worked, but poorly.
Resale isn't even on the radar, so I don't care what the value of the bike is with them or with stock ones.
Wonder how much I can sell a set of Mikuni 38's for?
Mmm, flatslides...
I hope to have FCR's before the end of summer.

After your initial tuning, you really don't need to watch both cylinders. I would have a bung fo rthe sensor in each header pipe for tuning, alternate the sensor between them until you have reached a happy point in your jetting/setup, then just leave it in one header (or move it to the crossover).

Good luck with the install and jetting. Oh... and stock up on Sta-Bil if you haven't already. Today's gas and carbed bikes don't go well if it sits for a week plus. I have a big sticky note on the Kawi ZRX1200R tank that I write the last start up date on in case I loose track. If I haven't ridden it in a week or so I start it every 6-8 days, run it up to operating temp and run a few float bowls of Sta-Bil'd gas through it and jot down the date. It's the only running carbed bike I have. Wish I had that stuff in the 70s and 80s, but back then the gas wasn't that bad and wouldn't crap your carbs in 2 weeks like now! [bang]
