Well, since the only other obvious thread to do with racing on NMMR seems to be dedicated to MotoGP, let's just start a set of thread fors ALL racing related matters. This thread will be a place to discuss all things which WILL NOT compromise someone else's enjoyment of later televised or recorded racing, hence the ****NO NO NO SPOILERS!!!**** in the title.
If there is even a question as to whether or not an item might ruin someone's enjoyment of a race they haven't seen yet, then post it THERE! Such items include race results (duh), qualifying results, preliminary qualifying results (I've been pregnant doged at for posting these before, so let's just keep 'em here), and any statements that include aggregate season scoring (series points totals or leaders, as this info might give away the winner of a race).
This thread is for non-spoilers, so feel free to discuss pre-race thoughts, silly-season rumors, rider gossip, and other non-spoilers here!
Well...I posted some of what Vicki said over in the SPOILERS section, but some of it's safe here, so I'll drop it here.
Vicki is walking around at Daytona and she says she's meeting some very interesting folks. She's met Michael Jordan (owner of Jordan racing....yes...that Michael Jordan), hung around with Larry Pegram and his sponsors, and just when she thought it was cool and mellow Nicky Hayden showed up. She knows Nicky pretty well and she said he has obviously been training like a madman, as he's lost a significant amount of weight and is "seriously fit looking" and "ready to race".
He'll never be as small as Pedrosa or Stoner, but here's hoping Nicky is ready to duke it out with the big boys this year. GO NICKY!!!!
Since I failed to post it in the NO SPOILERS thread, the Daytona races are tonight. All are welcome to the Casa de Cloner for racing and hell raising. Motocross starts at 6:00, road racing from 8:30 until 10:30.
PM if you need a phone number or directions. I'm in the FAR NW corner of ABQ, virtually in Rio Rancho.
Don't forget, World Superbike this weekend from Portugal!!!

Thanks for the invitation, KB, but as time is short and I'm still cleaning up dog puke (Emma isn't well) I'll have to skip. Have fun, though!
Valentino Rossi crashed in Free Practice this morning and broke his leg. He won't race this weekend (first race he's missed since 1996) and might miss up to four races!!!

Hi Everyone,
We'll be sponsoring the upcoming SMRI Trackday on Saturday July 24th. We have tickets here for sale now so either stop in or call for yours. The cost is $75 per ticket, the price includes the new rider training school for first time trackday attendees. We'll also be having a tech seminar on Friday July 16th at 5:30 to answer any questions about bike and rider prep. This tech seminar will allow you to be well prepared for the trackday. There's no need to bring your bike to the seminar just your ears. We'd like it if we got a lot of our riders out but this trackday is open to the public so if you'd like to have a mostly Triumph, Ducati and Husky event call and reserve your tickets ASAP. Trackdays are a lot of fun and are the best way to improve your riding skills so please don't hesitate, get out and ride.

Wait...I don't have a TV in my bedroom. :P
Laguna is next Sunday. We may need to DVR that one. Skinner & I have promised to drink ourselves into oblivion next weekend.

Wonder if they're paving the way for a V-4 superbike given BMW and Aprilia's virtually instant success with 4-holers? They're definitely NOT telling us the whole story in their press statement.
maybe thats what happens when u want rossi to ride and devolpe the moto for ya 8)
just a thought
On a channel called HD Theatre, I've been DVR'ing the Isle of Man TT. This week's show was about the practice runs; next week willl be the actual races. The video is real interesting.

Ok guys we have another race this weekend...so anyone wana come over and watch it? maybe after the ride on sunday? [beer]
I've got a question. Wtf is wrong with Speed? I've tried to record the Japan GP 3 times and all 3 times there was something else on instead of the race. Did anyone actually see it on Speed?
I'd like to ride with you guys but I'll probably be at the track. It might be my last one here so I have to take advantage of it while I can.

Yeah...it was a great race and Rossi's first win on a Ducati. Sucks you missed it. ;D
Wtf is wrong with Speed? Now that's a whole other can of worms. We'll start with excessive Nascrap coverage and work down the list if you want to take time.
See you Sunday...and you on Saturday, JJ.

It's official....Dovi to Ducati for 2013 and 2014! The contract is signed. The ink is dry. Done deal!
I saw that!! I really hope the Duc doesn't break his spirit.....
Now only waiting to hear word about Crutchlow and Spies [popcorn]
Wasn't one of his "conditions" on signing with Ducati that there would be more support for GP racing from big brother Audi? I've also saw an article about Ducati's racing department seeing some reorganizing. I guess it's all just words until something actually happens. Here's to hoping for a good 2013.

If you missed it, WSBK started this past weekend and is now broadcast on beIN Sports (DirecTV 620) and the new coverage is awesome. beIN allocated five hours to coverage on Sunday and it was absolutely awesome and virtually commercial free.

Reviving an old thread.......
World Superbike begins its 2104 season this weekend at Philip Island! WSB is broadcast on the BeIn network, which many of you don't get as the network has no agreement with Comcast. With that in mind I thought I might extend an invitation to the group to come over to the house Saturday evening to watch a bit of racing. DirecTV does broadcast BeIn network and we use DirecTV's service.
Races start at 5:30 and 8:00. I'll record them both and I think we should begin watching at around 7:00. That way we can fast forward through the fluff and concentrate on the racing!
For what it's worth, after early qualifying Suzuki is running out front with Ducati a tenth of a second behind and last year's champion Kawasaki another three tenths back. Three Ducatis in the top ten. The Ducati factory's return to WSB after a three year absence seems to be showing results already!
No takers? Tap tap tap.
maybe sounds interesting. I will see how work goes
MotoGP is looking up for Ducati this year. The GP15 is on the top of the time sheets in free practice this week. Qatar on the 29th....can't wait!!!
WSBK this weekend (the 22nd) in Thailand...the Australia round was CRAZY with Davies (on a Panigale) standing on the box after both races. The Thai round looks to be at least as good. Bayliss is running the Thai round just as he did in Australia, and has qualified top ten!
As a guy who doesn't follow racing too closely, didn't Bayliiss "retire" a few years ago?

Ducati 2 and 3 at Qatar. Austin this weekend. Stay tuned!
Tell me again how Rossi is done. [thumbsup]
