Ok looks like one of our southern brethren is heading North to Gods country (aka Queensland). Who is interested in showing her around our fair land?
Options include the famous Mt Glorious/Mt Mee loop as well as Mt Lindsay Highway and Lions Rd. Maybe even include Hinze dam.
Do I have any takers?
sure, the beechmont binna burra circuit via beaudesert and boonah is a good run.

Hmn looks like I'm popular with the Qld OzMos :-\
Don't believe a word those Sydney boys say about me! :o I'm normal (almost [laugh])
Whilst planning my trip I have realised that my bike will be due for it's 60 000km service round about Brisbane. And good Ducati mechanics are usually pretty busy so I need to think about booking it in now.
So who do I go to in Brisbane for servicing? Should just be a standard service but the clutch hasn't had anything done to it since new so I'm guessing that's about due too.
And I'm not mechanically minded so I can't just borrow someone's shed and tools and do it myself. [roll]
Are you new around here girly? [cheeky]
Heard of Bevan @ Eurotwins? :-\

Thanks Betty. Knew I could count on you. [thumbsup] I wasn't sure of which company and which state as I don't always pay a lot of attention when you northerners talk about your mechanics. [roll]
I'm lucky I have Mr Black for my mechanical needs here in Mexico.
;D

The loan Honda is well.....shall we say...serviceable.
I am around on that weekend so would be interested in a bit of a trip, how about a dinner date with the brizmonsters? I know where the best vietnamese and Thai is to be had around these parts.

Yes that's what I was afraid of!
Nice to have you along Brimo. Dinner sounds good too. I'm a bit of a fan of genuine Vietnamese. Thai is good too.
I don't know my way around those parts so it would be good if you locals could sort something.
Bloody hell!
A group ride and a dinner ... in Brisbane ... what's going on up there? [cheeky]
Anyone would thing you have been lacking a bit of female attention, first sign of a female and your suddenly all sociable [laugh]
Well done Heather [clap]

We welcome anyone (even females) it's just that we don't like each other much. ;)
But seriously folks if the saturday night is good for people let me know and I'll book a vietnamese place in West End. I vote the beechmont loop for Sunday, close to the Gold Coast if you wanna see it Heather. But then, the Mt. Glorious/Mt.Mee road is the iconic ride for Brisbanites.
the indooroopilly fuzz and i don't see eye to eye so i'm not going anywhere near glorious/nebo! beechmont/binna burra is a nice ride, i can't make dinner saturday night though, plans made already.
paul.
We can always do friday night, if that suits.
Thinking of joining in.... so what's the consensus for day and route? Meeting place?
Am sending you all a PM to try and get something sorted. ;D
Shhhh don't tell anyone. [laugh]
My better half and I can make a Friday dinner and a Sunday ride. Saturday is cactus for me now.

Okay Brimo you are in charge of organising Sunday. ;D Don't think MonsterDorf can make Sunday.
Not sure where I'm spending Sunday night yet.
OK how about this then?
Saturday meet at Macca's in Yamanto and have Loony take us south. Options include Mt Lindsay, Lions Rd, Queen Mary falls et al
Sunday meet Mt Glorious @ Brimo take us North/East/West.Options include Samford & Mt Mee, Mt Nebo, the Gap then north back via Somerset/Esk.
As far as dinner goes I live out near Gatton so 80Km west of the CBD, so were are we suggesting, still proposing Friday night?
Aw man, I love that road. I drove my car down there fairly often before getting the bike.
Is this ride likely to be newb-friendly? Six months experience riding so far, (without so much as a wobble). Wouldn't mind even just meeting the local crew.
it's an open invitation mate, all are welcome.

I will be a newbie to Qld and riding with these guys so come along and get amongst it.
seeing as heather is staying at micky D's on friday night how about dinner at the plainland hotel? easy for everyone to find, not too far for those of us local to ipswich, and for anyone else who's coming, brimo? it's easy to find your way too and from.
paul.
Obviously works for me :)
Got my vote. (Very) varied menu caters to all tastes. [thumbsup]
Brimo - is this too far for you? :-\
ok by me.
NFG? what say you? need to know so mick can book a table............... ;)
thanks mick [thumbsup]
paul.
I've never heard of the place, and looking it up it seems to be out on the Warrego highway, is that the place? I reckon I'm down for a Friday dinner out there, sure!
that 's the place
So just to be sure on No's, we have:
Loony +1
Brimo +1
NFG
Heather
MonsterDorf +1
That makes 8; any more takers for the Plainland Hotel?
Yep that's right for me (+1), thinking of staying there the night too, has anyone seen what the rooms are like?
right for me too mick.
paul +1.
probably wo't be able to make the dinner now, will PM you all
how's things everyone? still set for friday night? have you made a booking mick?
the saturday ride will be as follows, all are welcome.
8.00 yamanto maccas, leave at 8.20 fueled up, if you're late, tough shit, catch up or go home!
ipswich to boonah beaudesert rd, left to beaudesert, through to canungra, left to the nerang broadbeach rd? then right towards advance town. right onto the binna burra beechmont drive through to binnaburra for a coffee and a stretch. back down to the roundabout, left through to the back of canungra and the same route home, those that need to can head off through beenleigh, or back to brissie from beaudesert with us westies heading back via boonah.
cheers,
paul.
Heather is staying at our house tonight and all is good here

So Brimo, what's the route for Sunday?
Sorry, guys and gal, but It looks now that I'm gonna have to pull out of everything, apologies for letting you down but
a few personal things have got to be attended to.
Bummer :'(
Dunno if anyone has warned you lot yet, but according to the goss doing the rounds on Sunday (and we all know that goss on a ride is the benchmark for accuracy), Heather may be a serial killer.
Yeah, I was shocked too.
yes and i took her into the national park alone ooohhhhh :o
OK here we are and it's Friday................soo.............do we still have 6 for dinner?
Loony +1
NFG
Heather
Dorf +1
Also who's still up for a ride? NFG you still on either day?
Departure times from Macca's Yamanto on Saturday and route see earlier post from Loony.
Sunday now more open, who's up for leading the ride?
Cheers
I'm still in for dinner tonight, and a ride tomorrow as long as the rain holds off.
oh, you are all so very far away come back to Tassie we miss you all (at least I do) [laugh]
had a great ride today with heather, mick, and lawrence, no rain, just lots of coppers everywhere! real criminals must still be on holidays i'm guessing!!! anyway, nice to meet heather, great lass who knows how to ride, if not CLEAN, her bike. i'll let her post up her pics but there was a little bit of dirt, a lot of nice dry roads and a top lunch at binna burra with sensational views.
paul.
Yep good day - my bike has had its "post ride" service and is ready for a blat up to Glorious tomorrow ;D
Waiting for Mick to clean my bike [roll]
Great ride today. And great to meet Loony (yep he is one), NFG and MonsterDorf. Few too many [leo] around for my liking tho.
Photos to come.
Happy Birthday old man Looney. [wine]
Glad you guys had a good ride today.
Funny about the cops, I think in 2.5 days we saw two.
One was parked with his mates somewhere heading into Muswellbrook (I think)
The other was booking someone on the way out of Lithgow.
Love to see some pics if you get to up load any Heather.
Some pics from today. Note that Looney already has a cavalcade even before we left Maccas!

I had a great ride. Definitely nice to meet some locals, and get some more experience under my belt. Started off wobbly as, couldn't really get the hang of
following people. By the end of it I was (sore) feeling much more comfortable, and the ride home was (sore) noticeably more controlled than usual.
I look forward to the next one. =)
Thanks Mick, I'm guessing that's NFG and Loony with Heather?
So you had an "escort" from departure then, very nice.
Yep, tall shiny guy is Lawrence (aka NFG not Arabia),vertically challenged is Paul (aka Loony) remainder is the "good side" of Heather ;D
Okay quick few photos using borrowed technology that I'm not used to and modem has dropped out twice!!!

MonsterDorf showed me his back yard today after first plugging up the nail hole in his rear tyre. Mount Glorious lived up to its name. Roads were a little damp - well it is a rainforest so to be expected. We rode through a cloud (several times) rather than getting rained on. Went over the mountain one way then back over the other way. Not one [leo] seen so I'm starting to think that a certain (absent) OzMo may be a [leo] magnet (as opposed to a chick magnet [cheeky]) [roll] :-*
Signs that this could be good fun :o

hang on a minute! that's a slur against NFG and i won't stand for it! besides, some girls think bald fellas are sexy! ;D

She couldn't be referring to NFG as the reflection from his head would blind the [leo] but I think cops have it in for Leprechauns ;D

MD has his own puncture repair kit. It's a 4WD one but all the same bits as the kit you gave me so was a good training exercise.
