Just read a message from Mia that as of April 1, Ace Cafe San Francisco is to go non-smoking. They've gotten permits for sidewalk tables, and they'll soon start serving lunch so the city wanted them to curtail the smoking inside the bar. I'm no smoking nazi, but I think this'll be a very good thing. Watching racing will be much nicer when you can get out of there without your clothes smelling like an ashtray ;D
Of course, if you *want* your clothes to smell like an ashtray, that too can be arranged.
Hell if I had known I could smoke in there, I would've actually gone.
Sounds good to me. Hopefully soon the designated smoking area for the west coast will be in Mexico.

[laugh] +1
I like to load up on my vices...if I'm drinking it only seems natural to whip out a smoke too. But, hey, I can go either way.

...or right outside the bar, at the sidewalk tables.
I don't mind smoking in most cases. At Zeitgeist, which is open-air, it's not a problem. But in a place like Ace Cafe the ventilation doesn't clear it out, and the place becomes pretty nasty. Food tastes worse, and you come out of there smelling foul. I keep having to ask myself whether I want to go there or to the D-Store to watch a race, given the smoke.
That's good news.Do they show the Sunday races(WSB & Moto GP)?

Yep. And Dakar. And Isle of Man. And SBK & GP Practice & Qualifying. And did I mention it's just steps from my front door? I love this neighborhood ;D

When I was a kid the Carpenters had that hit "I'm on top of the world" and I really liked that song because I thought they were talking about "Taco the world". I could really get into that you know.
Anyway....
That is all.

When I was a kid I thought the "Museum of Science and Industry" in Chicago was the "Museum of Science in the Street". Never could figure out why all the exhibits were indoors.
That sucks. It means more people will go there. >:(

I won't be one of those people. I might have to stop by your house and drink your beer instead. Preferably while your at Ace's. [evil]

Spidey keeps crap beer at his house. He drinks crap beer while at bars too, come to think of it.
Stopped into Ace tonight. The usual cloud of smoke was absent, I could actually see the TV, and there were plenty of people in there...drinking, eating, enjoying themselves. In fact, it was all regulars. Just the kind of place where I'd enjoy watching racing.

I bet he drinks the good stuff when there is no company. Sharing Coors with the guests is a subtle way of making them not stay too long as well. So is sharing stories of what goes on in the van.

But that doesn't explain the drinking of Budweiser in public.

C. pile of team bikes
and stop by now.
