Title: Introduction from Allen, TX
Post by: Mhanis on March 29, 2010, 10:05:27 AM
Howdy folks, I am a newb here and to Ducati. I have wanted one for over 20 years and finally got one!!!

I bought a '86 Virago 700 brand new and it has serviced me just fine until a couple of weeks ago when I couldn't resist the call of the Duc anymore!! Now that venerable Yamaha has somebody to talk to at night in the garage!!

The Virago is not doomed however; I figure it is worth more to me than anybody else so I'll be hanging on to it just because.

I'll lurk mostly, read a LOT and post very little.

MAYBE the ride to Hico............?

Hey, neighbor!  I'm at Stacy and Watters.  We'll have to meet up sometime - plenty of meetups with this group.  I wanna do the Hico ride, too.

George

Excellent eye Fastwin! Technically a Series 70 Reproduction if you are familiar with the current Colt lineup.

Now if I could oly figure out how to ride and shoot at the same time I would have the perfect marrige of 2 hobbies!

You'll fit in great! Big 1911 fan... Colt, Springfield Armory, Kimber, Wilson, Les Baer. I have the same problem with firesticks as I do with bikes. [bang] [laugh] Guns and bikes seem to go well together. Just a gearhead kinda thing I guess. ;D

Get good at weak hand shooting if you're a "righty"... there, problem solved! [laugh]

Hey, Mark - If you see me, you probably won't mistake me for anyone else (sort of a running gag): I ride a big, loud, red ST3... AND I wear a bright yellow Olympia jacket and a bright yellow matching helmet... they call me "Tron"... or worse, a "BMW pilot."

Thank you for the warm welcome everybody, I appreciate it!

George, that is a lot of color rolling down the road. I am pretty sure we haven't crossed paths before, I think I would remember that color combo!

There used to be a guy in my neighborhood with a Grey or Silver ST (I never caught if it was a 2, 3 or 4). I used to see him occasionally until about a year ago. I don't know if he sold the bike or the house!
