Title: Jacket Zipper Problem
Post by: ab on April 03, 2010, 07:35:40 PM
So my 4 year old jacket is having zipper problem.  After zip up, it opens up from the bottom.  So it does not stay zipped.  Jacket is still good.

You guys/girls ever have zip fixed on a leather riding jacket?  Where do you even get it fixed at ?

Thanks

That is common work for a good tailor. Just make sure they work on leather.

I had it happen on a jacket I bought. I contacted the place where I purchased it (cycle gear) and they took the jacket back and gave me a new one no questions asked. The jacket was about 3 years old too.  [thumbsup]

Try contacting the place you bought it and see what their policy is. If they cant help, like has been said, a taylor should be able to replace the zipper pretty easily.

Seriously doubt that IronPony (local shop in town) will take it back.  Their return policy is very strict.

I checked on a tailor today.  She asked that I get the zip and then she will charge me $30.  I bought the jacket around $200 or so back in 2004 but now it sells for about $100.  Not sure if it worth fixing up.  May have to save up for a used Dianese jacket I guess.
