Just got back from Death Valley on the K bike. Camped in Panamint Springs. Other than the insane wind down there and the downpour on the way back, it was a good trip. Here are a couple pics:

The corn field makes you think....
Man, I spent way too many months there in the Army. Decent place to visit, would never want to live there.
Aren't these the last few weeks to see the valley in bloom?
Nice pics [thumbsup]
I did the tour of death Valley in the fall (mid october) on my monster. Great tour!
Thanks. Yes, this is about the season to see the wildflowers. They weren't really going strong when I was there. Honestly, now that I've been there, I don't have much need to go back and see it again. I can visit some national parks repeatedly, but DV isn't one of them.

I went there a few years ago specifically when it should have been in bloom. The best flowers were just outside the east entrance. Even though there were probably a dozen varieties, just about all of them were very small and looked like desert plants. I was expecting something more.
If you want to see wild flowers, drive up Mt. Diablo. Or any of the hills in the area.
Still, Death Valley is a beautiful place and worth visiting if you've never been there. Worth going back to if you have.
