Any place y'all would recommend for buying them near downtown D.  I need a new set.

if you don't mind a short jaunt to mansfield, you could buy a set online and have them shipped to stuart rust...

I, in the past, have ordered mine from Sportbike Trackgear (who I love, by the way) and had them shipped to me or to Stuart's casa in Mansfield. Rode over there, had the tires put on and carbs synched, rode away with a big, shit-eating grin.

Last set I had thrown on I just went down to AMS off Industrial since its only 5min away from my house, all was done in a matter of minutes, and I was free to leave. Of course, I could not help but stay around and bullshit for awhile, but whatev.

Randy McCarter - an entertaining, likeable fellow -he can have tires shipped directly to his shop - good prices, installs, balances.  You could probably get him to do it while you wait.  He's in Forney.

PM me if you'd like contact info.

They are the online place to go to now...

Parts 411 used to be a good place, but they got bought out by someone (who? I don't know) and prices went up a LOT!
Oh well...

Downtown Dallas?  ...AMS is the only place I know of.

I still have to pay for almost everything but gaskets. Which is fine, because the project motor I'm working on needs things like gaskets right now.

I was in the market for a No-Mar tire changer for awhile. I may pick up the hunt again in the near future. I'd like to get the trailer-hitch mounting option. And the "big" wheel balancer so I can do car tires too.

Very timely info; the Guzzi is off to Stuart's.... Guess it's either off to Stuart's or off a cliff, just depends on my mood  [evil]

Thought the LeMans was running fine? Now what??? [bang] Power Commander issues? [roll]
Title: Re: buying tires
Post by: Cher on April 13, 2010, 01:00:13 PM

Same problem.  Power Commander was only marginally better - not enough to be workable no matter what the map - and now the "issue" seems to be affected by higher ambient temperatures.  The bike absolutely will not EVER run smoothly at anything below 5,000 rpm.  It redlines at 7  [roll]  Having tried everything short of tearing down the engine, I've got nothing.  Nothing except a staggering mound of repair receipts.

So, yes, I'm finally putting the hammer down and, what do ya' know, my headache is gone  [bang]  Goddamn Guzzi.

sold it or traded?  I think a test ride is in order tomorrow afternoon.  I'll be at the harley dealer in Corinth getting some goodies installed

I'm game for that.  Although I'm not selling the Guzzi or trading it in this condition.  No moral high ground here, simply a matter of self-preservation  :-X

WHat time are you going to be there?

early afternoon.  need to call them to push back the original appointment.  I'm thinking 2.  PM me and I'll let you know.
and go ahead, sell it to HD in any condition but if they call RPM for a buy quote you'll be screwed.

I found exactly that on Craigs list...
Cheap too.  I had to borrow a13bPilot's truck ...so he gets free tire changes for life  [roll]
(that part is still costing me)
But all in all it's worth it having one!
