hmmm.... i took a few stabs at this, but was stumped. I know I've done some mccain-to-english translation work in the past, but this particular usage of quoted "actually' as a modifier for "event' has me stumped on the grammar side, and the syntax / usage pattern seems to be referring to some shared past event that somehow will ostensibly pan out better in the future, which appears hopeful, until you get to the sad face at the end.
my conclusion? McCain was beating himself in the head with a shovel while typing. James, buddy, this is not the recommended usage of shovel or computer. If you must do both, please separate them by some amount of time or drinking.
