Post by: sydjake on April 22, 2010, 03:18:15 AM
Hi - thought i would take this opp to introduce myself. Name is Jakob, Live in Sydney Oz, riding an 09 M696. Done about 7000k's on it and tail tidy... wating on some carbon. Have thought about the termis but just cant bring myself to pay 20% of the bikes value on them... maybe crazy??? needing new rear tyre and not sure what to get thinking michelin power pilot or pirelli angel. if you guys have any thoughts or experience please let me know what the best bet is. I jumped on a m1100 today and decided the next is an SF... thoughts?

So thanks for having me - hear from you al soon.

J

Hello, and welcome.

Well, not wanting to pay 20% isn't so crazy... especially if you're not going to keep it for a very long while.

For the tire, generally it's unwise to mix and match different manufacturers tires from front to back - so until your front tire is done, I'd run Pirellis. This has been discussed on this site before, a little hunting will reveal more info that my quick answer. And for technical questions, you'll get a lot more eyes on them in the Tech and mods sections.

And there's a local section for other OZ riders, perhaps you can find some other locals

Welcome Jakob! :)

As yuu mentioned, make sure you stop by your local board, OZ Monsters (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?board=52.0), when you get a chance.

You'll see lots of exhaust suggestions in the Accessories & Mods (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?board=5.0) section, and we have a pretty good Tire thread (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=2444.0) going on in the Tech forum, or just start a new thread if you like.

Oh, we love bike pictures so please feel free to share any that you have. ;D

have fun! [moto]
