Not sure if this is a derby, but this is one cool Ducati at the museum which I haven't seen before:

NO BRAKES!

i was watching that Ice Road Truckers show on history channel last night and had the thought about how much fun it would be to cross some of those lakes on a studded dual sport

IN college I screwed a bunch of short sheet metal screws through my mountain bike tires to get that sort of effect. Scary, and only partly efficient, but fun.  [thumbsup]

I would so ride that Duc.  ;D

most ice racing orgs require the absence of brakes. it's like dirt track or speedway (roundy round) not motocross..

i'd have to look the pics i took from the other side, but i think that's the pipe for the vertical cylinder.

Wow.  I'd think it would be kinda easy to get into a hairy situtation rather quickly with no brakes.

That sounds kinda scary.

Didn't Ducati put studded tires on the MotoGP bike last winter and took it out on the ice?
