We seem to have a few people who are up for some Mid week Madness in Sydney-town
and able to get out for a spin when less weekend drivers are about.
I thought I'd throw this up for those who might be thinking of heading out and want some company.
So if you're in the mood and have the time post it up and see who might come out of the wood work.
i do sometimes have a morning, afternoon or a whole day off during the week, so i keep an eye out.
Im up for weekday rides...
Very peaceful riding on empty roads while everyone else is working
When I get my license back... in July... I will have a lot of ducatitime to make up... and a free week about every month for midweek rides.
Good idea [thumbsup]
But i doubt the roads will be peacefull.

I will be riding up from Bateman's Bay tomorrow (Wednesday) 28th.
Planning on riding to Braidwood, almost Golburn, Mac pass then into Sydney (hopefully with an escort!). Matty and Mostro900 (any many others) have my contact details if anyone wants to join me somewhere. (I have very limited computer access at the moment.)
Planning on meeting you at Robinson Pie Shop which is at the top of Mac Pass.
Will have a possy with me.

What time are you leaving?
doesn't matter ... after 9 when school zones finish but i'm not fussed
Shall I meet you at Mecca then?
Or should we meet on Willoughby Road opposite the German car shop, cause I know that's the way you like to go up there.

I may be testing out my new Rizoma rearsets tomorrow. I will keep an eye out for you. Although, having never met you Melvin, I don't quite know what to look for. ???
surely you could recognise the bike....... after all, it's a plain-jane-bone-stock monster (like all of ours!) [cheeky]

Possibly, looking for some rizoma rear sets as well, carpimoto has them for $650 delivered opposed to bikcraft in oz for $800. Would prefer to get them from an aussie... maybe a discount might be in order (because if te strong dollar....... or weak os currencies... however you want to look at it)
Plus the In Laws just flew in so need to keep myself as busy as possibile :)

I bought my Rizoma Rearsets from the US. Heaps cheaper and delivery was free.
The only problem was that the rearsets were not "fully adjustable" with the Termi High Mounts. We were able to get a full refund if we wanted, but George opted to do some mods to the exhaust instead to get them to adjust properly.
Thanks George, you did a brilliant job. Love the Rizomas !!!!!!! :-*
Do you remember where in the us you got them from? Caprimoto is Italian and I hear they take forever for delivery even though delivery is 70 euros!

What will you replace them with...?
Tried and true. Supercorsa Pro's
Cmon Matty. I remember mmick riding the edge off those shitty scary tires on the M900 all those years ago. Surely it's not the tyres.... Maybe you just had an off day (and Melvin had an on fire day!)

well, than a decisions will have to be made as
"A total of four options are available from both front and rear. The versatile range gives the Pirelli rider 16 unique tire combinations suitable for almost any track"
Yeah maybe I was having an off day. It is easier to blame your equipment though isn't it ;)
Still he was on fire, though when we were on the way back up the hill to PITS from the Bridge there was no getting away.
Just enjoy your bike Matty, and the company....... [thumbsup].......I have a strong feeling though that you will never be happy till you throw Corsa's back on......
Talking about being happy. I missed the nice "Mid week madness Sydney rides" in the sunshine and went out today in the rain instead. Braved the rain just to test out my new Rizoma Rearsets. Sounds like a plan ... well sorta ... time and place?
Well, you kinda live there so its only a question of city folks getting to warriors
I'm thinking of having a coffee @ Mecca 9am and leaving city 9.30....arriving warriors around 10.30
We'll see how we go, may see you there.
I'm a definite maybe.
Not a bad turn out was it ... 7 of us all up.
Nice to catch up with you all and go for a little ride. Definitely envious of those that have the opportunity for some regular mid-week madness.
[thumbsup]
Nice little turn out... Think I should say "Stuff it" and come and do this sort of thing more often.. Great for the sanity. (and not TOO much work piled up, which is probably just luck).
Great morning.. Absolutely PERFECT weather.
Even Nugget's fuel incident (ran out on the way up the hill to PITS) couldn't put a dampener on it [thumbsup]
Definitely envious of those that can get away with doing this sort of thing regularly.
Glad to see you all had a good day and from were i am a thunder storm is heading out that way this arvo.
And my heart dropped after lunch when i heard on the central coast FM radio that all i can get were i am a bike hit the armco at Mooney mooney creek and is in 3 pieces.

LOL - ah yes that fuel incident [bang] - that's why i'm the nugget head! CHEERS Mr Wells (pass on your number mate)- I owe you a few beers I would say [laugh]
Yeh, what a top day Re: Brooklyn/warriers ride - It doesn't get much better than that despite my brief fuel mishap - Thanks for riding up with me Melvin. It's great to get some feedback on the way the new bike is running.
That accident - passed on by - quite a mess - bike squished into road rail - a stark reminder of the fragilities when riding - it was a group of riders in fact
Can't quite remember all names - Nick, Jukie, Signora, Mark... Thanks for the chat - hope to see you all soon - with a full tank of fuel - somehow I don't think I will ever live that down.
Nuggethead [thumbsup]
Sounds like a tops way to spend a Friday.
Shame I had to work.
May I ask did anyone snap a pic at all?
Anyone, Bueller, Bueller...........
Thanks for a great morning everyone. Melvin, Wells and Nuggethead, it was nice to meet you. Jukie and Betty, always nice to catch up. Had a great ride home and Nickati even had time to pop into work, which makes him happy. [roll]

Must have happened just after we headed down in the morning, road was partially closed when we went for a 'run' ... everything was cleared up by the time we were headed home.
Talk around the cafe was that two of them (group of about five) had gone down. Hopefully there is no worse news to follow.
Considering going for a run tomorrow morning if anyone's interested?
I have to be at Terrey Hills by 11 but keen before then. [thumbsup]

Hi All.
On Wednesday 8th I need to meet up with relatives in Forster, so I was planning to leave early. . . ish on Tues, up Bells Line to Lithgow then via Bylong Valley Way and Bucketts Way to Nabiac and Forster. Return to Sydney on Thursday probably via the same route. Anyone interested in some or even all of this little jaunt is wellcome to get in touch. Bells Line 4 times in a week, yoo-hoo ! plus I got to say, I'm a little bit excited about Bylong, having read all about it on the DMF. cheers Steve
Hmn memories of the bumpy Bucketts hope they've fixed it (still better than the hwy, just a good suspension workout). Would adding the Oxley Hwy be just too much of a good thing?

No,not at all. I have a theory that they are having some time off before the very busy, lots of overtime, Xmas New Year period. . . . I'd still be very carefull though, one could lose a lot of points putting that theory thru some rigorous scientific testing ;D

Looks like another cracker of a day! See you at Harrys in a bit
Ripper of a ride guys.
My bad for missing the Kangaloon turn off.. Didn't notice til we were a kilometer down the road and figured that seeing as you guys were going the scenic route we'd carry on homewards.
Turns out we would have only missed you by a tiny bit as we joined on to Kangaloon Rd at Glenquarry.
Which way did you go then? Up Old South Rd or something?
Probably should have mapped out the route.
Anywho, Matty & Cakey - hope the rest of the ride was good.. We all made it back without any further qualms.
Cheers all.
M
Pretty sure it was old south rd (saw a sign, think we took that rd)
Great day today thanks again, i was absouletly wrecked when i woke up this morning, i will bring my A game next time :)
thanks again, i found out about some great roads i never new about... cant wait to go back up the mountain on a dry day!
Yeah I think that's the road, you end up coming through Yerrinbool and Yinderra and pop out on the freeway a few k's before
Pheasants Nest.
I ended up just shooting down the freeway from there also, it would have been a wee bit lonely on the back roads alone.
Got a few snaps, I know you're all surprised by that [cheeky] [cheeky]
Nuggethead thinking hmmmmmm I think my bikes a little bit stock, if they're not looking for long enough maybe I can pinch somethings.

Either way you won't be alone.
evo?
So if I got this right ... there has been another unintentional parting of the ways on an Ozmo ride.
... and it looks like there were some ring-ins on that ride.
Only one ring in who didn't post up but that's fine. There were 6 of us unmployed or vaguely employed out for the morning and yes there was an unintentional parting after the last fill up.
I was faffing around like an old man trying to get my music in (which hurt my ears due to discomfort) and when we finally headed off Max shot out ahead and missed the Kangaloon road turn off.
No harm really as the was a plan for us to split a little when we got to the freeway.
As to the other thing you picked up.
No Evo, I'm talking pre-loved..
what was the name of that Nationalish Park that we went through before we got back on the princess hwy. We turned right at Bulli and we went up i think it was appin rd and then through some sort of parkland area.
im trying to map the route so i can remember it for next time.
We went up bulli pass.
Try this for a start and build your own adventure afterwards.. Would like to see the rest of the trip.

Matty - didn't anyone tell you stock is the new bling ;D - I was actually eyeing off your tank bag - it's gotta beat the faff that is my backpack.
Some roads down south I never would have thought travelling if not for the MattV. Satbling, quoting Cakeman "...can't wait for a dry day". Kind of lost my balls after a slight slip on leaf litter 5kms into the Royal National - if a cat has 9 lives I'd rather be a dog [bow_down]

While the Boss was at work and the outlaws in sleepy-mode ... I headed into the 'big smoke' to see may family for a little bit. Just made sense to take the Old Road ... down mid-afternoon, back up on dusk. Hardly anyone about as evidenced by the leaf litter on the road (nothing bad, just highly unusual).

Although its not the weekend ... it kinda feels like it.
Anyone interested in a ride on the Old Road mid-to-late arvo today? The Boss has sent me an email and wants to ride after work.
Hopefully you will all be legal (blood alcohol) by 3:30ish ... anybody interested?

Possibly for a morning run then back to the office.
Where were you thinking?

Cloudy. Isolated showers until late afternoon. Winds south to southeasterly averaging up to 30 km/h.
No plan of direction must asking who might come out.

Bah.. well I'm never quick, so you can definitely cruise with me!
Same place as usual in the south.
Shell servo at Kirrawee on the Princes Hwy cnr the Boulevarde.
Let's say 9am meeting then or can you not leave home until 9am Ivan?
Otherwise meeting at 9am leaving by 9:30 to be in KV for around 1pm.
I won't be able to leave home till probably 9:15. Not sure that I could manage a full days ride to KV, but RNP would be nice for a half-day sort of spin.
So you wouldn't be over at Kirrawee until 10am then
How's that work for others?
Of course it will always depend on the rain that pocket weather says we have a 60% chance of tomorrow.
I will look at the sky tomorrow morning......if it is sus then i will bail.......After the wet trip down from Brissy, plus since then i have been caught out in just about every thunderstorm Sydney has had...........Rain now to me is like manure to Biff.......... ;D ;D
Whatever time i'm there ;)
I don't think you're alone there, i hate manure!
Gosh, riding in my back yard and I cant go, bummer.
Enjoy [thumbsup]
Mmick
9 or 10 I'll be there, unless its pouring.
Okay so let's check here before 9 to see how the weather is treating us.
Cool - I'll duck over to work in the morning for a couple of hours.
Anyone want to meet up at Harry's (Woolloomooloo) at.. say .. 9 ish to leave at 9:15?
Would make sense for those traversing the city (*cough* Brian).
Hey Max..........Let me see how the weather is first......9 at Harry's u say.....? Does he also sell umbrellas.....?
so i am in the office ...7.20am :'(...but im looking over Harrys cafe its dry and the radar looks good....have a good run .......i just had a quick 2 day run up to the snowies and we must try to sneak that in some time.....HNY to all

If you're cutting down Roberts Rd, etc then I'll meet you at the servo I'd say..
The servo is on the corner of Princes Hwy and The Boulevard (CLICKY) (http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=470+Princes+Highway,+Sylvania,+New+South+Wales&sll=-34.027633,151.084998&sspn=0.002272,0.004469&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=470+Princes+Hwy,+Gymea+New+South+Wales+2232&ll=-34.022787,151.09025&spn=0.036351,0.071497&z=14)
Assuming we're on... Anyone still keen to meet in the city before heading down?
Looks good outside, meeting at Kirrawee Shell at 10am then.
Brian it's easy, once you connect onto the Princes Hwy from Roberts rd/King Georges rd at Blakehurst just follow it up over Tom Uglys bridge until you see the Shell servo it's just after the caltex (my preferred fuel) so be in the left lane.
See you all at 10am.
one more
see you at 10

Thanks for the ride guys - a great morning!
the others are still out there down to KV - ride safely now! Mr Plod is out & about
Well we who continued didn't get that much further. Got foggy and a bit dangerous so Gino and I came back before we got to Mt Ousley and Rendang continued on.
Will try it again next week. Hope no one had a visit from the Radar fairy on the way home.
bummer! we were just down the road stuffing our faces with scones an a certain someone went polish/german/something and had the kranksy roll which looked pretty bloody good actually!
you might have beaten us home!
Ah, where did you end up down at Stanwell?
So Matty how did you go today ?
being fully naked that is with your bikini top removed
I like the look [thumbsup] Monster with no tan lines
Did you get much wind chafe ;D
Fortunately it cleared up after we split, I say fortunately because I wouldn't want to go down Mt Keira rd in the wet, it was interesting enough in the dry. By the time it rained again, I was in the Pie Shop,so just went home from there. Thanks for the directions Matty thats a great route, still,I have never got to the KV though, so I'm really interested in the complete ride, maybe we need an earlier start say meet 8.30 for 9am depart next time ?
That's great, I was thinking it was looking a little clearer after we did stop talking on the side of the road.
Yeah why don't we try to re-enact the route next week and start earlier for sure.
Des, the new look for 2011 is pretty good. I have wanted to drop the gauges/light for ages. Now that I have I like the look of it without the bikini even though I have the prevision to put it on, I think I need to have new brake lines to do it though.

Seems they are easy to get on the highway at any seedy truck stop
but the only place in the city is Oxford street
and Brian has already worn out his welcome there ;D

Just a tail tidy so far Matty.....
My main aim is to throw on the larger water pump plus Muzzy fans as their main trait is overheating.....but i will fix that in a couple of weeks.....then i just have to chuck the cat.....which will probably mean a complete system....ecu.....Michael from Carbon Imports for an air filter (thanks for the Melotti kit btw}....sheeeeeeee..........there goes Noosa [bang].........all "SAFETY "items though...... Nice ride today btw guys......pleasant company.......enjoyed it.....
How is the weather up your way this Sunday morning Mark & Julie...?
At the moment just as you like it Brian ... wet. Roads are wet, skies are grey and there is a misty sort of rain.
But to be fair it was like that yesterday morning and it improved relatively early.
Ok, thanks......maybe a late b/fast at Pie depending on the weather ......
Proxy ride for Brian
Okay its on again late notice but hay that's how Brian rolls.
We/He will meet at the top of McCarrs creek road (opp. the restaurant )just off Mona Vale road after Bonds nursery.
We are going to ride out to West Head and maybe around Akuna Bay and could possibly
end up at The Newport Arms hotel for a cleansing Ale. [drink] [wine]
There will be the three stooges as the main group and everyone is welcome
but Brian did stress no riff raff . ???
4.45- 5.00 pm so we arrive at the National Parks both as they close there little window avoiding the $11.
Jealous.
Have a beer for me.
And be careful with the cyklop.

Andrew, its probably an old one of mine........just like his front guard, my list would take up this page.....not to mention Robs bike as well........i practically own both bikes [thumbsup] so just ask me mate......!
Buy at your own risk from carbon dude, his stuff is generally shite and that is a good description of his quality.
Oh and thanks for the heads up for a wee ride. [cheeky]
Even though I spent the day finishing fences.
If the sky stays friendly I might well head out Wednesday unless work stuff pops up.
Btw Teff (Bwian) weren't you supposed to in bed resting with the flew.reminds me must get a flew shot :-X
I shall forward these photos on to your keepers place of work ;D
And cakeman Dez did get that belly pan from carbon dude as i did and you will have to make youre own brackets or try monster parts he did sell them.
Be very carefull buying anything from Teff it is usually inferior product or damaged or worn out in some way, if it was any good he wouldn't sell it ;)
Typical of Teff have a nice day out ride then front up at your place of work at finishing time and rub it in >:(

On a side note has any one checked CPT prices of late :o
Had to renew today GIO wanted just shy of $700 [puke]
managed to find a cheapy on interweb for $547 from valuegreenslips.com.au
Also was stressing about a roadworthy with my noisy Arrows ..........
all they looked at was the kilometers checked nothing didnt even look
at brake or indicator lights let alone DB's [thumbsup]
So if you need a rego check PM and I will direct you to them.
Got a GIO greenslip 2 weeks ago for $407. Last year was $360.

Different financial years?
The next couple of months are gonna get real expensive ... anyone got Andrew Stoner's number??
Sorry ... I'll let you get back to the usual madness.
Why are the next few months gonna get expensive?
It's already expensive now, that will just take it to how the hell can I afford that.

Its gonna get expensive because a few of the bikes are due and currently all with GIO (as they were the cheapest by some margin). Its not expensive now because I have my bike justification hat on ... its already paid for so its effectively free!
But you are right I am already thinking ... how the hell can I afford it?
Lets face it,....we all love to whinge about green slips, rego etc.......... but try adding up what we spend on "safety items" during the year......... [roll] well....... maybe i am just a tad worse there........cough cough..... [bang]

Brian is penciled in as petrol sponser ,
he also suggested we continue up to Mc Masters beach surf club cafe for lunch .
This is a very special occasion so bookings are essential, limited to 50 people. With this guys popularity it's bound to fill fast. [thumbsup]
Lunch is possible on the old road, but I gotta leave by 2pm or earlier.
Can meet you on the way if you like Max, say around 11am.

Ok ok..........an update is needed.........
Meeting at Berowra at 11am, but take into account the servo is closed for fuel i hear......best top up before..........
Matty can't make it to McMasters cos of work commitments but lets nut that out up there......
Limited vacancies still exist, so anyone who is too sick to go to work is more than welcome to recouperate with us tomorrow..... [thumbsup]

If it is raining heavily consider the day postponed ... light showers/sprinkles - we are still on.

Late mail from Mr Hambo ... unfortunately the day will be postponed - far too wet.
It has been raining (kinds light, but consistent) all morning ... at least from 2am here ... and there doesn't seem to be any let up in sight.
Oh well, another time perhaps.

Umm ... the idea was to discuss it with you.
I might be up for a run.
I am waiting for someone's Beemer to come back from Pro Cycles but it still hasn't happened.
So what are you thoughts on direction and timing considering it's supposed to be very warm again tomorrow.
Thinking an AM run.. North or South is good for me (was originally thinking North, but could be swayed).
I'm super flexible, but was originally thinking of being home before it got too hot.
Well call me early then if you want to go South but there is a possibility that the RNP might be closed as it was Tuesday.
Hrm.. closed due to fire conditions?
Should have posted this earlier ... couldn't convince our guest to venture onto two wheels so we would be unavailable until it probably gets too hot.
So the park wasn't closed but we did have some company [leo]
Thanks for the ride Matty!
