First of all I'm off Sat and Sun ;D
How about a ride Sunday morning? I'm not much of a ride leader so I'm posting this.
Also, Addison has thier Taste of Addison this weekend at the Circle area. Just putting it out there before Summer swealter really hits, if it does :P
I'd love to ride but Jen just booked all my days with crap!! [bang] No rides for me on a rainless weekend! Not good... hope you have fun! Is the leg better??
Swelter? Oh yeah... it's coming! When does it not come??? >:(
Yea. Let's ride [moto]

Yep knee is much better (I had thought patella
must have twisted off). Taking stairs two at a time ;D
I'm riding this weekend alone as usual unless someone
chimes in. Two bikes need some miles [moto]
Let's go to Paris, then fly back for some tasty treats at T of A. Calscrazy shared some routes he's been cooking up and one of them looks nice and twisty. Check it out:

Total round trip looks about 260 miles. I'm thinking we meet at Buzzbrews on 75 for a good hardy breakfast before heading out. "Dine" in Paris, then the intrepid among us can venture the slabosphere back to Addison for some well-deserved nourishment. But only if your intrepid. ;)
Anyone up for it?
wife and I may join this ride but on the Hardley so I'll print a map since it will be a month before I catch up to you lunatics
probable
CRAP!! [bang] I'm never going to get to meet you guys! My nephew has his confirmation Sunday morning, so I'm out. Y'all have fun out there!
I thought we were talking Saturday?
Let's do Saturday then.
Also, I'm having second thoughts about trying to fit in Taste of Addison after a day of spirited riding. It's supposed to be a high of 91 and we'd be getting there in the hottest part of the day with all of our gear on. I dunno... what do y'all think?
wife and I are riding NE of McKinney and can meet you guys somewhere to say hello but I'm sure we will be heading home about 12 if not earlier. I'm not riding out to Mesquite where your starting point is but can surely be in Farmersville and ride a bit with you guys.
Saturday works for me. Sunday too for that matter. I say Saturday for Cajuns' sake [moto]
I am looking foreward to riding some new roads too! Fun fun. Thanks Will [thumbsup]
You're killing me! No rain all weekend and I can't have any fun. Now I'm thinking my family has gotten me sick on top of having the weekend filled with crap. Feeling too crummy to ride. I'm screwed... post up ride pics to give me reason to keep living. :P
Ok lets meet at buzzbrews at 8:00 [map] (http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=109151765268542970369.0004871e564d3a7792003&ll=32.818441,-96.776848&spn=0.094204,0.173035&z=13&iwloc=0004871e57919ded73bfd) and shoot for kickstands up @ 9:00.

Bummer you won't be joining us. :(
Farmersville is about 80 miles in for us so we could do a gas stop there where you could join us. Just let me know and I'll give you an eta when we leave buzzbrews.
Hey CajunR, your profile sez you're in Wylie? If you don't want to come into Dallas for breakfast, you could join us in Farmersville.

That's what I'm thinking, too. Waiting to hear from my event coordinator to see if we're booked tomorrow as well.
And this might sound silly, but... If I did the whole route with you guys, I would have to stop at some point to have my 600 mile service done... ;D

Who says you can't have any fun? Overdose on vitamin C, drink lots of water and come meet us for breakfast and
maybe ride depending on how you're feeling by then. Breakfast at the very least that way you can say you did somethin' fun. ;D
Hey! Where did CajunR get my picture for his avatar? >:(
Thanks for the breakfast invite but I don't want to give what me and the family have to anyone. Colin has mono AND some sort of bacterial grunge, Jen started to feel bad too, now it's my turn. Apparently his mono is not contagious (although I thought it was) but I am sure the grunge is. He doesn't seem to grasp the concept of not coughing on people. In fact, he seems to fixated on doing the opposite! [bang] :P
Damn I'd like to go but can't. If I don't get the honey-do's done I'll never see another ride day. Have fun. Looks like a great root.
Arkansas ride date?
I'm going to have to bow out as well... [bang] Have a safe ride!

Totally up to you. Right now it's Dan, you and myself but more people (and a wider range of speeds) may decide to join so maybe it's a game-time decision? I'll be waiting at any major road changes regardless so no worries either way.
well, the hardley group called and they need us to ride with them tomorrow or I'll lose my geezer membership. 8)
actually we need to be back early because we are tailgating at the Buffet concert so we'll ride early and be home early. have fun out there.
I'll be on my HM1100s with fresh tires [moto]
these rides are more fun on a sport bike IMHO.
No worries, we wait at all change of directions for
all to catch up. [thumbsup]
Rich D should show too. Prolly on his new aquisition from

Let's ride!

Thanks to Will and his GPS, this ride was possible. Talk about highway changes!
It was good to see Andy again Malynn rides that Monster! [thumbsup]
OK, drama time. [roll]
Wearing leather track pants pressed on the pressure sensitive knee but it wasn't too bad till after lunch. Chasing Will on the slabs on the way back buffetted my knee against the tank and the wind pressed harder than before. After 80 miles it got bad. I tried riding straight-legged but it still hurt and I lost blood circulation in my leg. Finally on 121, my leg, hands, and lips tingled, I couldn't stop crying and could take no more.
I took the next exit, made it to a parking lot, took off the helment and konked out on the ground.
Lisa thankfully followed me and saved my ass BIG TIME!!!!
After a bit I could sit up and drink the water she fetched. I recoverd and she led the way home. BTW, your early exit was perfect as the Tollway was killing my knee again. At least I could relieve the pressure some at a stoplight. [thumbsup]
Ha! After taking a cold shower I saw my Dianese pants and thought of Marquise de Sade [laugh]
Anyway, Thanks Lisa and to Will and Malynn too for texting me. I've got some awesome friends and am very grateful [beer]
Persistent swelling and pain enough to pass out this long after your radical dismount does not jibe with the typical healng course for a simple laceration, Dan. Was your knee bursa involved in that injury? Anyway, it's definitely time to RICE it again. Don't forget the NSAIDs (ibuprofen 800, or whatever you were prescribed for inflammation). If it were me, I'd book a followup with my PCP.
I'm totally bummed, had to work all day so I couldn't do this. >:( I see they had a senior menu, too (probably use bran instead of corn meal in the breading)! [bang]
So how was the catfish, anyway?
will was the route ok or do i need to work on all the highway changes. i sent you the other route that hade alot lesschanges but not anywhere near as twisty.
jesus christ, dan... take it easy on that knee dude. i know you're hardcore but damn...
that said...glad you guys had a good ride. while you ladies were out riding us real men were cleaning, detailing and modding their bikes. my back is freaking sore. but i got a lot accomplished.
I agree. Dan, take it easy. Maybe too much too soon. [bang] You ain't healed yet dude!
Mmmmm... senior menu! [thumbsup] [laugh] Where was that catfish place?
Glad y'all had fun. Me too sitting aroung the house sick as s#@t!! :P At least I caught up on my TIVO'd races. Too bad I missed my nephew's high school graduation last night. Too puny to go. [puke]
Catch the next ride before it gets to be 105!! [evil]
Yep, good times... except for the knee problem. Holy guacamole Dan, take a load off. Call in sick for the next few weeks or something. Margarita pitchers for breakfast. I don't know, just get well soon!
I enjoyed the ride route - it was especially nice about 45 minutes before we got into Paris. The catfish, in Paris, was excellent. In fact, the only disappointment with the menu was no fried tea.
Thanks for putting this ride together calscrazy and thanks to dallas2r for shepherding the way. Good times [thumbsup]

It was pretty good but there's no way I'd try it without the gps guiding the way. There was
some twisty stuff closer to dfw, but a lot of distractions (side roads, residential, etc.). As Lisa said, the good stuff was about 45 minutes prior to Paris. Totally worth the trip for those that live on the east side, but it might be a downer for y'all travelling so far just to get there. I felt like it ended too soon. I'll have to double-check the other route when I get a minute and see if the good stuff is on there.
Yep. Thanks CC for the route [thumbsup]
But I sure miss bein a SouthSider near the infamous
Hico Run!!!!! Good work Chris!
could you have been dehydrated? I got that way yesterday when we got home from our ride and was cleaning the bike in scoffing heat and humidity. Hope you feel better.

Btw Dianese pants are great scab removers too :D
If that catfish spot was in Paris twenty bucks says it was the same catfish place that a visiting State District judge I worked with at the Crowley courthouse talked about. He was Paris local and raved about a catfish spot in his hometown. Gotta check that out! [thumbsup]
By the way, is there a Whataburger next door at the intersection of 271 and 82? Maybe southeast corner? Had a few dozen meals at the Whataburger going to and from Arkansas, just never payed any attention to what was next door. It just hit me that maybe that's the catfish place he was probably talking about! [bang]
I may be way off. Just guessing here...

yep, the Catfish King is right next door to Whataburger at that intersection. The catfish was awesome, but the hush-puppies were, for lack of a better word, extra-terrestrial. They were perfectly round cylinders with machined precsion sheared ends. Creepy I tell ya'.
Guess that judge wasn't foolin'. He talked about that place all the time. I was just always locked and loaded to get to AR or get home from AR and only hit the Whataburger for a high speed low drag meal and ignored the packed parking lot next door. Just number 10,756 dumbass thing I have done on a bike ride! [bang] Won't let that happen next time!

Whoa!! We can use ammo as currency now? SWEET! [laugh]
Works for me! [thumbsup] Had a buddy give me twenty rounds of custom .223 handloads for Colin's new deer rifle. His teenage son shoots the same gun but in stainless. He showed me on his office computer pics of all the big ass bucks his son has dropped with that round. To return the favor I gave him a few boxes of .223 and .308 ball for their guns for plinking around. I've got plenty. So then he thinks I over did it on the pay back and he gives me more .223 hunting rounds!! [bang] We shook hands and agreed to call it even. [thumbsup]
