Title: Ducati Hi tech jacket
Post by: billruiz on May 27, 2010, 11:22:08 PM
Hey all,

DNA says they've discontinued this jacket, but they still have it on their site  [bang]. Any of the members know of this jacket in any dealerships stock size 48 (Euro)? I can wear a 50, but would require more beer and cheeseburgers.

I've been through ebay and google. Most I see are jackets that are too big. I was hoping someone from or close to a dealership saw one in stock somewhere. DNA says they can't help me, but how about the new Ducati Speed jacket? Uhhh, I'll have to get over being mad first and then maybe...if it grows on me.

Seriously - I tried that jacket on when it first came out - and still wonder how anyone can justify spending $500+  dollars for it. Not that it's not nice looking, but I just couldn't see the value for what you get.

I picked up this jacket a couple of years ago, and absolutely love it. Along with with the new Dainese Shotgun summer jacket these two jackets are the perfect motorcycle season setup.

My suggestion is , since Dainese made the Ducati Jacket ...you look on the Dainese.com site and fall in love w, one of the many leather Sport Bike or under Tour Bike symbol but still very much Sport Bike style Jackets.

Check out the Dainese Grey Hound made w, D-Skin leather .

Very soft and the Armor is better than the Ducati Hi Tech.

For Summer heat check out the Dainese Air. Perfed in the front and back but still black leather.

I ordered a Zards Full CF exhaust from Bayside Performance up in Canada. It did not arrive until after I returned to Iraq
[bang] At the moment I'm looking at all the sponsors websites.....decisions, decisions...

Still not too happy with the run-around I got from Ducati North America's online store, but I am happy that Sonny and Ducati Seattle answered all my questions and sent me the jacket I wanted.

It's always a pleasure dealing with Ducati Seattle and Sonny.  I love to stop by and just talk with these guys.

Funny story about Sonny.  One Sat afternoon I was in the shop, looking for some clutch cover etc.  As I was talking to Sonny, a phone call came in.  Sonny excused himself and answered the phone.  5 minutes into the conversation, Sonny's face turned red and veins popped out of his neck and forehead.  Another 5 minutes passed, Sonny did everything he could to calm the person down over the phone, all the while remaining very professional and appologizing for something he obviously didn't do.

So what's making this customer so angry?  Apparently, his significant other was pissed off at him and THREW AWAY HIS KEYS (red key included).  So this poor had no way of making another key for his Duc.  When Sonny delivered the bad news on how much it would cost to replace the red key, he went off on Sonny, as if Sonny designed the whole ignition system and Sonny set the prices.  All I could hear from Sonny was "I understand your situation, sir.  But I didn't design the system.  I am just trying to solve your problem for you." over and over.

I applauded Sonny after he got off the phone.  Sonny truly loves what he does and it  shows thru his interaction with customers.

[clap] [thumbsup] [clap]

Thanks Rocketman. Sonny @ Ducati Seattle really came through for me. I love my 09 Tricolore jacket, but you can never go wrong with basic black.
