So, I went to a local gas station in New Brighton, to fill up my 5 gallon gas jug for my lawnmower and to also use some in my motorcycle. I had heard that they carried non-oxy fuel...they did but it was 110 octane race fuel. Is that ok to use in my motorcycle and my lawnmower?
Needless to say I won't be going back again because that gas was 6.80 per gallon :o! I know BP has non-oxy at some stations but there are none close by...
I dont know.
Try it and let us know. [evil]
non-0xy is good for your bike. 110 octane is not. The high octane is for engines that are tuned for it and have a real high compression. The higher octane prevents pre detination that the lower octane fuels do when put into a high compression engine.
Thanks for the info. I think the gas they sold me is also leaded... I guess I got taken. Well if anyone wants some free race fuel let me know; I've got about 4 gallons of it.
I bet your lawn mover was fast as hell lol. You could probally use it and just mix it with 87, I think; better ask someone to make sure. $6.80 is cheep. VP is $10-12 a gallon fwiw [bacon]
we're supposed to be boycotting BP anyways right? I mean being brits is reason enough ;D

If it's leaded, I definitely wouldn't use it in your bike. The lead can foul up fuel injectors and electronic sensors (O2, for example) that it comes in contact with.
