Does anyone have a closing shim measuring tool and micrometer that I can borrow for a week? I'm in brooklyn and I can pick it up. I need the 7mm measuring tool.
:)
I have the micrometer somewhere. Idk how I'm gunna get it to you quickly though. I have the cheap one i bought at sears, think it was 30 bucks.
Also, if anyone is listening I need a chain breaker/ chain tool ASAP badly.
I got one from some one locally. thanks for offering though.
Why do u need a chain breaker? Didnt u already break urs?
I need to break the new chain at the proper link. I tried a punch and its not working for me.
why break the new chain???
did you use a grinder on the face? if it didnt fuse together fro mthe heat you should be able to get a screw driver and wedge it off. if not then, buy the one i sent you a link to. its also in the cheap tools section.
I bought a $20 breaker from my local rice dealer and it works pretty good. Looks like I'll be going back for the rivet presser as the clip master isn't really working for me.
I guess I could have just dremeled it but I'm no artist with that and didn't want to ruin the new chain.
yea clip types suck. Rivet is the way to go. if you use the DID clone tool, a rivet installs perfect every time.
