Title: M695 Windshield Removal Help
Post by: TitanMonsterS4R on July 05, 2010, 02:17:17 AM
Removing the windshield looks easy enough but can someone tell me how to remove the windshield on my M695 properly without destroying anything. Concerned with removing the signals as they seem to be attached to the shield housing.

Thanks for the helo.

There's just a couple bolts to loosen and a couple to remove. The two that need to be removed are the higher up ones that are normal bolts. The lower ones are the ones that have the rubber grommet - those just need to be loosened.

All this is probably easier with the head light un mounted. Easy was is to drop a towel on the fender, remove the two support bolts for the headlight and just rest it on the covered fender.

With the headlight out of the way and everything else loosened/removed just tilt the screen a bit and work it forward. It's got U shaped brackets molded in that go around the rubber grommets. A little tug n wiggle will get it free.

Mission successful.  Looks much cleaner now.  Now to find dual headlights and a digital readout on monsterparts.com.  Customize, customize, customize.  Looking forward to showing it to the group once it's completed!

Digital readout for?  If you're looking to replace the gauges you'll need a different ECU too. The immobilizer system is partly on the gauges. If you remove them and still have the stock ECU the bike won't go

For the lights here's a source for the factory type connectors
