Um Yeah. >:(
And I read somewhere that Macquarie Bank want in on the action to operate the unmarked speed camera vans. [bang]
make the beast with two backsen leeches. >:(
Yep, in Vic you can get done for 61kph!! :o
That is the speed that the infringement is issued at! Another part of the infringement notice has the "detected" speed which is usually (but not always >:( ) 3kph more, so to allow for instrument error! (So kind and fair arnt they?? [roll] ).
So you have actually been doing the extremely dangerous speed of 4kph over, RIPPED!! Road safety my asre!? [bang] [evil]
Money grabbing?? Most definitely! [leo] >:(
I think anyone who has an account with macquarrie bank should move it and boycott the ratbags just for putting their hand up, super is right, they are make the beast with two backsen leeches!
I'd like to add that all coppers are not created equal, i got a healthy flash ( hi beam and 4 spotties) from a country cop today who had a radar in his prado, and i wasn't doing 3kph over either............................good to see he was either on his way home/busy responding to something else/or just not interested in writing me up cause i was on a country highway and i wasn't being silly or endangering anyone or anything.
paul.
Dickheads, I mean really.
great so the message is when I am travelling from little old SA to VIC in October I should generally do say 10km/hr under what my speedo says to be on the safe side?? Even using a GPS unit to verify sounds like a dangerous proposition as the second or so lag could cost me $$$ - nanny state sheesh! ???
These posts are referring to NSW. They are trying to steal the nanny state title from Vic. [cheeky] I usually sit right on 100kph and haven't (touch wood) had a problem with [leo]. It's only when I'm doing 130kph or more that they get a bit annoyed with me. [roll]
Just remember it's 100 in Vic not 110! And don't speed past any vehicles pulled over on the side of the road.
This narrow focus is in Vic at the moment, but coming to a State near you!? (Eventually! And it wont matter who is in power! ??? ) [roll] [roll]
The big money spinners are the criminals who do less than 10kph over the limit!! [roll]
Here in the South, this group apparently makes up 70-75% of all the speeding infringements issued! [leo]
Just makes you wonder about the seriousness of the authorities in regard to road tolls etc? Statistically where do most prangs occur?? Where paths of vehicles intersect of course.
Sooooo why then dont they have shitloads more speed/redlight cameras?? IF they were serious they probably would, but they wouldnt raise as much cash though, would they!? [evil]

Particularly with super dark tinted windows, and parked either at the end of a block or in a position where other vehicles cant park in front of them! [thumbsup] [evil]
speaking of laws.....
whilst I was away did we have the law introduced that trucks cannot be in the right hand lane on multilane highways anymore?
It was announced before I left.....did it go through?
(it will never be policed cause the pollies just focus on speed). Let's all drive badly at 50kph!!!! (great frickin idea!)
Its a dead set make the beast with two backsen filthy grubby politicians snout in the make the beast with two backsen trough money grab that has absomake the beast with two backsenlutely NOTHING to do with safety.
The grubs sit in their own filth, working out ways on 'how to screw money from motorists under the guise of safety'.
Trouble is WE the motoring public believe this shit that dribbles from their lying gobs, as they say, 'throw enough shit and eventually some of it will stick'.
Are but mick you are not providing any evidence.

The sound of being booked for 4kph over 60 is totally stupid.
I MEAN really have you tried to read your Monster speedo at 60, does it really sit on 60 exactly!
Never so how can you accurately read the speedo at 60 and watch out for the cagers who are trying to kill you. [bang]

All Riders
looks like Speedo watching and not the road may become our next safety message?
Now this is a cause we can all get behind.
We don't even have to come up with lengthy reports, statistical analysis and all that other shit that is so easily manipulated and mis-represented.
It just makes sense ... clear, concise, logical, no bullshit common sense. If you are not watching the road you are driving/riding dangerously and risking people's safety ... simple. In fact so simple you would think that even a politician/road safety expert would be able to understand it.
Like a crack addict, Victoria saw a way of getting more money, More, More, MORE, [drool]
Gradually bring in more Cameras
Gradually lower the tolerance
Gradually raise the $$$$ value of fines
NSW is hanging out in the same back alley as the Victorian Government, watching as
Victoria is getting high on it's "supply" and now NSW wants some of the "Minimal
effort, Maximum return" action. Don't worry, Qld is in the same back alley taking notes!
Throw up a camera and watch the cash roll in.
And we let it happen, when we didn't Protest, When we didn't say anything to our government's
and say enough is enough!, Jam up the court system, refuse to pay fines, The general public let
this happen. Everyone stood around waiting for someone else to to "grow a pair" and say NO!
Weve had enough! The lies stop here!
If you have a drivers License, regardless of the fact you ride a bike, drive a car, drive a Truck.
Innocent people will get caught for the horrendous crime of being a couple of K's over the limit
and they will lose there license, all for the sake of revenue raising. It does not save Lives!!
Once again the Motorist is forced to Bend over because these Governments are broke due to gross
Mismanagement and waste.

yeah coming across the border I always back off - besides my HQ doesnt do warp speeds - the vehicle I have been travelling in to the island in recent times - funnily enough the speedo is pretty accurate for a 38 yr old vehicle.
this year however I will be on the Monster - but we will be heading down towards Mount Gambier and heading along the Great Ocean Road - so I will be doubly careful as I dont know where the [leo] hide down there! [thumbsup]
Don't speed on the GOR - they are everywhere usually in unmarked cars.

Much of it has already been covered above ... but it also mentions the increasing road toll in Victoria, related shootings in the US and the obvious safety issues we are always bleating on about.
Well it looks like the bloody media ( the same ones that we slag off at when we only get one side of the story) has jumped onto this one, even showing conflicting data from the people that are bringing in the new unmarked vehicles (NSW) and saying what we are saying, watching the speedo is not watching the road. I suppose a good example would be the introduction of speed limits in Northern Territory, the accident (and importantly, DEATH) rate went through the roof.
Look, we are heading for a feral...er.. federal and state elections, we have a rare opportunity to have a say, so go rattle some pollies can, write a letter, or at the least sign a petition. Oh, and tell a mate to do something as well, we may never have a better chance at changing the way that we get treated.
And if you have a negative view about this... I dont want to hear it, just mumble into your coffee like you normally do [coffee]
Mmick
Its like Deja Vu watching the same stuff unrolling North of the border. [roll]
Every State (And I daresay, everywhere else!) that has introduced this sort of "Safety Thing" has gone through exactly the same public and media indignation over the cameras and the use of a private company to operate and administer the system, and maybe lack of transparency and accountability and blah, blah, blah............etc [roll]
And what was the result of all of it?? Naff all! [evil]
Any Guvmint, of any persuasion, will milk a cash cow!! [roll]
Dont get me wrong, I am NOT saying roll over and let it happen, but it WILL happen and civil disobedience by clogging courts and making the system work for you by making it so bloody expensive and difficult to process and collect these bullshit fines that they might start realising that it just aint working!! [roll]
But I wont be holding my breath, but I wont be wearing the shit either! >:(
History has proven that this type of "Road Safety " initiative virtually anywhere on the planet just doesnt work! :( [evil]
