A buddy of mine showed me this..... Pretty good looking belly pan and new rear seat cowl for the 696/1100....
Probably the best looking belly pan I have seen yet for the 696 and the seat cowl is pretty sweet as well....

That looks similar to the monza belly pan for the s*R bikes.
MUST HAVE
* I wonder if they are using the factory Ducati paint on these pieces. $208 USD for a painted belly pan seems cheap.
I am almost 100% sure I'll be buying that belly pan. Not sure about the seat cowl.
damn this belly pan looks better than the one I got from Barracuda
yeah i'm liking the tail piece alot

Resembles the 1098 tail piece with the little "air vents"
yeah should go well with the sbk front end i'm trying to put on
Both pieces look very good......love that they come colour matched.
Sent am email to the manufacturer asking about shipping price and possibility of group buys. I am sold on the tail piece and still deciding on the belly pan (think I'll be wanting it).

If you simulate a order they show the shipping price
FYI, i was told after summer they will be offering the belly pan in carbon fiber as well. Just if anyone was looking for that option!
there is a page that breaks down the shipping costs. kinda $$$

Yup, not too bad considering the parts are fairly priced to begin with.
I keep going back to the site to look at that belly pan. I am really liking the look of it. I feel like with me exhaust it will "complete" my look.
I'm digging it too. I wish there were more shots available so we could get a better sense of how it looks.
Any word on the group buy?

Yea, I got an answer. They basically said that there will be no discount on the parts but you can order as many as you want and pay the same flat shipping.
Wanna be the guinea pig and buy it first?
;)
Hmm, let me go stare at my bike in the garage for a few minutes and make a final decision. (this always works)
Do it! Do it now!

I actually wasn't planning on getting a belly pan before, but I think it would balance out the look of my bike. $218 is not that bad.
Speaking of belly pans, I did a quick search to see if there are any other ones out there, but there doesn't seem to be many. Have you looked at others?
Yea, there are a few for the 696. The most common is the Barracuda belly pan. I have also seen a small goofy carbon fibre one and a few custom made pieces.
This Xcentric appears to be both the best looking and cheapest. The unpainted barracuda is ~$275..
This is a painted piece w/ install kit for $218.
Yeah, does seem to be the best. I just came across this post that lists out some of the options:

Wow, I am seeing a few of those for the first time. Still, they are all ugly ;D
I am still trying to decide..... I am standing next to the bike while typing trying to make up my mind.
*e-mailed the guys a Xcentric one more time asking for larger photos. If they send any I will post them here as well.
Agreed. They are pretty ugly.
You have the pearl like me (I have the red frame though). I think it would look nice with our color because of the contrast.
their site has 7 larger photos of the pan if you click on the small photo!
The seat cowl looks really good in the additional pics on their site... i want one!
I actually didn't notice there were more pictures on there

I like the seat cowl, but I would probably just go for the belly pan because I don't have a problem with the stock one.

Idk, my bike is already the best looking 696 on the planet. The question is, will this make it better?
I really can't decide if I like it better with or without the cowl.
I think I'm just going to buy it and try it out. If I don't like it I'll sell it to one of you for the same cost I paid but without shipping. So you would save $68 and it would cost me $68 to find out I didn't like it. Hell, I have spent more money or a lot more stupid shit..

No big pics, or installed pics, but there is another option - the riding horse. This site is one of my secret loves. I'd really like to see this one installed, wish I had the money to guinea pig it.

I'm going to buy the belly pan. i tried placing an order last night but for some reason it didn't go through. sent a message to try and get it figured out. I'll post some pics when it comes ;D.
Nice! We got ourselves a guinea pig!
I'm close to ordering one myself. I will be happy to hear about it from someone else first though and see some more pics. I curious to know how aggressive it looks in person when installed.

Cool. I'm sure it will look slick. Definitely post up your experience and some pics when you get it so I can be jealous.

Well, we would still have to wait for the shipment from Italy... Initially, but once our first shipment arrives we would be able to hopefully keep stock and get these to your door in 2 days from the time of order.
I can see payment has gone through for the belly pan........now just have to wait for delivery from spain. [coffee] Part with shipping to Canada came to 216 Euros, which was $303 Canadian and change. Can't wait to see it on!

Nice, price is not that bad compared to the other options out there. Hopefully you dont get dinged to badly with duties (fingers crossed). Post pics when you get it installed.
Belly Pan was shipped by company on the 9th, and left Spain on the 12th. Javuchi696 is the guy from the company on this forum. He's been very quick to respond to any questions i've had and has been very helpful! So far so good. [thumbsup]
Belly Pan literally just arrived at my house!! Pics when installed!
Finished install on the Xcentrik Performance belly pan. Install took probably 2 mins. Instructions were very clear, and even had a diagram, but it was just take out 4 screws, place spacers and washers and bolt the original screws back in. Part itself looks amazing! Very good quality and the paint is a perfect match. Love the way it finishes off my bike.
Now how do you post pictures on this thing? [bang]

I'm wondering how it will look on a white bike with a red frame. I don't think you have to wonder about the dark. That one seems pretty simple to me.
I think the white bike black frame and white belly pan are absolutely perfect.

I think it might help balance things out. I also think that on both of our bikes, it would look good to have the belly pan and black the rearsets and forks out. Then it would really pop.

catalyst racing composit makes that one
I know, because i have the same one on my 1100. It's designed for every 2 valve, so it requires some cutting/drilling, but nothing too much.

$205 not bad. Just regular fiberglass, or is it plastic?
How did you mount it and what type of cutting was required? I have never worked with either of the above listed materials, how difficult would you say it is to get this installed?

Dremel with a plastic cutting wheel. (it's fiberglass, but plastic cutting wheels work well on it).
Small amounts of cutting on the front side, depending on how your headers are routing.
The moounting points are pre-impregnated (identations). Drill them out with a uni-bit
http://www.motowheels.com/italian/myProducts.cfm?parentcategoryid=1355 (http://www.motowheels.com/italian/myProducts.cfm?parentcategoryid=1355)|Monster%20Body,%20Windscreens,%20Fuel%20Caps,%20%26%20Mirrors&productID=5201&showDetail=1&categoryID=24|Monster%20600/1000%20S2R/S4R%20Carbon%20Fiber&vendoridtodisplay=0&filterFor=&collection=168|European%20Motorcycle%20Parts
a set of these, and a few longer side cover bolts are where it mounts to
Pretty simple.
I used the forward mounting points from the rearsets to mount the back, but it's not needed, you can much more easily use those brackets in the rear as well, however I didn't have them when I first began mounting, and cut the holes too big.
Took about an hour to get the trimming done, and mounted for the full 1100 system. I think it should require less work because of the header on the stock 1100/696/796, which should leave moreroom in the front. (on the 1100 full system, you have to cut the front lip off to fit everything)
With cutting fiberglass, the key is to go fast. With drilling, use a punch to mark the spot, and drill from the outside in. Don't use a regular drill bit, it will crack the fiberglass, but a Uni-Bit will have the hole cut in no time
The most important thing, is that it's the only pan I've found that has oil-retention properties. Makes it very track/race friendly
The Xcentric one looks great.. shipping is crazy high though, maybe a group buy?
I was seriously considering Barracuda as well but there's a thread on DucatiMonster.org about a guy who bought it and it ended up catching on fire (melting most of his bike)

Has anyone put this lower cowling on a 1100M?
Very nice looking on the 696... [thumbsup]
I saw the puig in real life... it didn't look too good on the left side of the bike. kinda looked like a disc got smashed into the lower part of the engine. totally didn't flow well at all.
I'll most likely try the dp lower engine cowl. Although, I think the dp engine cowl is installed a bit too high on the engine for my taste, but nothing else looks better. :-\
Anyone purchased this belly pan??
Any photos?
I am considering to buy one for my M1100s.
I purchased one for my 796 back in May and I have yet to install it on the bike. I am having a difficult time finding the precise torque specs for the bolts that are being replaced by the spacers. It looks like the equivalent bolts on my Sport 1000 require 9Nm/6.64 lbs-ft. I want to use the proper value to avoid any oil leaks, and I want to be able to remove the pan while leaving the spacers for changing the oil (I'm sure removing those bolts/spacers from the engine every time the oil needs changing would take its toll on the threads). Perhaps using a little Loctite on the spacers would aid in helping them stay put while the bolts are removed, but I'm not sure if regular blue Loctite would be of much use given how hot the engine can get.
