Love the pic of his dad in the background.
Vale is one hell of a class act. Thank god for him!
That's some impressive shite. But then, we've pretty much come to expect impressive of him, eh?
Someone, somewhere on the interwebs made such a comment:
"Well, he's been running on top for so long, but we've never seen him handle a serious injury. It will be interesting to see how or if he comes back from this"
haha, well there you go Man I cant remember

He is Italian... A lot of what they wear over there would be considered borderline ghey in the US. [cheeky]
What " Physician " in his right mind would allow Vale to do what he did ?
I crashed and broke 7 ribs , punctured a Lung in April of '08 and my " Physician " tried to tell me I was done riding for the YEAR !
As it turned out in 12 weeks I was riding.
His breaks must have not been as severe as they seemed at 1st.
Dolph :)

Uhm... The physician that FIAT-Yamaha has on staff for such things maybe?
Just guessing...
Well, AFAIK, there's no documentation of how severe Rossi's injuries were.
Nor any detailed description of his treatment so far.
He's likely getting better medical care than the average Joe Racer.

There's an interesting article on the subject here somewhere. Basically, the physician who wrote it (not affiliated with FIAT Yamaha) said it isn't a big deal. He has a rod in his leg and that is carrying all of the load. The puncture was actually a bigger worry due to infection.
I'm guessing a punctured lung is quite a bit different. Broken ribs aren't that big of a deal (except for the severe pain)...lots of NFL players continue to play with those while wearing a protective jacket.
i can't remember how long it took me before i got back on from a broken collarbone but it was 2months or less maybe. i couldnt ride a sport bike too well due to the pressure of the position, but rode a Pegaso just fine.
