Who here is rocking them? And do you have pics?
I've been thinking of adding some to my bike but I'm not entirely sure - specially with my wheel color (white).
I was checking out this bike:

And really liked the way those stripes look - I found them on ebay for next to nothing (pre-curved) but can't call it.
I have a 2007 Pearl White S4rs
Here my bike when i first got her.

I tried putting some on over the weekend, but had trouble getting them even so I gave up.

on top of each decal section is a transfere tape to bring it easy on the wheels ... i think all manufacters do it in the same way

+1 on some being a complete pain in the ass. got some from cycle gear and said f it after about 30 minutes trying to figure out the freakin little tool and wasting a complete roll. now pre curved sounds nice and i will have to give it a try.

Thanks, Chris! I guess I'm a bit behind the times.

I had trouble with precurved stripes on a previous bike, and the ones I tried over the weekend came with just a big roll of tape and a little tool. I failed miserably both times. Is there an easy way to install these things? I really like stripes, but it bothers me to no end when they are not evenly applied.

did you take the wheels off to do it? guaranteed to make it easier.
I used a bike stand and completed mine in abot 15 to 20 per wheel. I just worked a little at a time. It would help if someone was there to slowly turn the wheel. My red on black rims look awsome
That video made it look easy. I did not buy my rim stripes from twisted vinyl..now I wish I had. Mine are on, but It drives me nuts knowing they are not perfectly round. I may buy new stripes from twisted vinyl and try again.
Red on Black - looks great!
White on Black - looks great!
I tried photoshop and i think i decided that stripes don't look good on white wheels - at least not on my bike. Thanks for the posts.

The precurved stripes I bought didn't have transfer tape, they were just stick and peel. This looks so much easier! Looks like I am ordering some wheel stripes! Thanks a million!
i´m not a fan of the steps on the video ... if you get this version better dont fix on the tyre+cut half of the back paper+and so on
as you see on the video ... the result are not round ...
on my point of view you get a better result if you take the complete vinyl include transfere tape from the back paper und position it, fix it loosely on the wheel ... if position is ok press it on, if not take it away and start again
we cut the transfere tape 1mm around each section ... so our clients cant do it like on the video ... and it works good without fixing on the tyre [thumbsup]
but for sure ... everbody can do it on his own way ;D
What color would look the best on a red 1100 with silver wheels? I was thinking red.... are these reflective?
Red will look nice. Red ends up looking nice on lots of bikes with lots of different paint schemes.
If it helps any, I put the pre-curved strips on my 696. I used a mixture of johnson & johnson's baby shampoo + a lot of distilled water (1 liter of water + 1 small cap of shampoo). Spray a little bit onto the clean wheel and it'll make it MUCH easier to position the stripes on the wheel perfectly. Once in place, I carefully dabbed the excess water off and let it dry.
I remember seeing reflective black stripes somewhere, but can't seem to find them again...They were said to appear black until light hit them and then they reflected white.
Anyone know where a person could find them??
EDIT: Found them on e-Bay (searched last night and couldn't find them???)
Anyway...here they are if anyone is interested...they seem to come in a number of colors and widths
