I live in the Denver, CO area and ride an '09 Monster 696. The Pearly White variety.
My girfriend is jealous, and refers to the Monster as "my Italian whore".
I was a member of "that other" Ducati Monster forum. Several months ago, someone revived a posting from 2008 about an organized ride in Ouray called "Ducati in the Rockies". This person was asking if this event was happening this summer. Sadly, noone ever replied to him. I thought: too bad! I would go do that. I've always wanted to ride that Million Dollar Highway. I'd even invest in some bike luggage and serious rain gear.
Fast forward to today. I get an email from my local Ducati dealer for "this sale" and "that promo", blah, blah, blah. At the bottom of the email is a blurb about "Ducati in the Rockies 2010". It is this weekend! Son of a b... >:(
So I go and double check "that other" forum site. Not a single word about this. How friggin lame is that?
I do a Google search for "Ducati in the Rockies 2010" and find you guys. A little snoopin around and I see there's a Denver based "Mile Hi Monsters" riding club too. Huh? This club is not on the list of local clubs on "that other" site. What up wit dat?
So I'm Kicking "that other" site to the curb and I'm gonna hang my helmet here!
