My S4R has a 14L tank (apparently?) im only getting about 150-160km on out of city runs before my fuel light comes on. Seems a bit on the low side to me, does this sound right?
Cheers

I have a S2R 1000 and get about 160 to 170km before my fuel light comes on - I don't think it is anything out of the unusual. Mattyvas will probably give a more concise answer. [thumbsup]
That's not bad numbers.
I've just had a tune and am now back at 160k's City and closer to 180+ on a run.
You'll find you loose about 2 ltrs to the fuel pump, so bone dry you'll fill 11-ish ltrs.
Being that your pump won't get everything outta the tank.
My S2R800 gets 200km before the light on a regular basis and another 40km to empty.
Your figures sound about right for a fridge. [moto]

Well i have put on a few Kg's in the last year so im sure that doesnt help :)
My S2R1000 was getting 200kms no worries in stock trim before the light went on. Best effort was 238kms with light on. (didn't run out of fuel)
But with the open airbox and DP ECU and full system I average 180 ish or so before the light appears.
I ride like a nanna
Can I just put in a quick plug for 695s? I've done 250 without even seeing the light :)

Definitely open road - in the city it's shocking - I'm lucky to get 180 before the light comes on.

I've never gotten that sort of K's from my S4RS. Matty is as light as a feather ........ especially compared to me [cheeky]
The best I've gotten was the other weekend when we went up the Putty, the light came on at 149Km which means I had at most 15km left int eh tank before I've have had to push her to the bowser!
BTW obey the yellow light...... its not fun pushing you bike to the bowser! [bang] [bang]

listen to the man with experience :)
I think mines a 4V and holds 15 litres and is only good for 130 kms........................ Dam power is a good thing

Oh and then the fuel light comes on....
I average 180km on the S4RS the best I've done was 200km but was desperately looking for fuel! I have never had to push it (fingers crossed). The bike is stock except for cored pipes.
what's your secret - do you weigh 65kg or something?
Dannog,
I'm 6ft 85kg's. As for the secret, I just try to ride smoothly. Everytime you hit the brakes you waste fuel. I try to use throttle control but every now & then some fun just must be had. It could also be that my local Ducati dealer have the bike tuned very well. So possibly a combination of those.

There's nothing wrong with being 65kg's or less.... [cheeky] [cheeky]

You're not riding it hard enough, I've run out of fuel at 119klm and nearly jammed 12 litres back into it.
