Title: Dianese sizing with bubble liner
Post by: golgofett on August 14, 2010, 11:36:16 PM
I picked up a mugello, based on the laguna seca, in a size 44.  It is breaking in fine, except the collar kinda drives me nuts, but I am considering jumping up to something with the bubble liner.  How does this liner affect sizing? I am considering jumping up to a Delmar Perforated, because of the style and bubble liner.  I do not know that I want to spend that much but there are some deals out there.  Does the bubble liner make that much difference in the hot and cold? My mugello is comfortable in the heat as it vents well but I do not know that a tight windproof layer and maybe a tight thermal may be comfortable under this jacket in the colder temps (40's).  Suggestions?

I think the bubble liner is quite bulky and it adds some weight.
When it's really hot, nothing beats flowing air, which the bubble liner inhibits (?)(check with DoubleEagle)

In the 40s - windproof is key - including all openings (ait tight collar, cuffs, zippers, no stretch panels)
Wool, thin fleece layer and windproof shell - works well.

My opinion:
The bubble liner seem to keep me cooler.  Also, does not stick to me when it's really hot like my other dainese jacket.

Darkstar, how about keeping you warmer when it is colder.  Does it work as described?

My experience w, Dainese Jackets w, Bubble liners is no difference in picking your same size as you are used to wearing in previous Dainese leather w, Micro Down liner or just a sanitized liner.

The Jacket will feel heavier but shouldn't be a problem.

I don't ride when it is above 80 degrees since I'm very heat intolerant to the point of heat illness and heat stroke .

I really can't speak to how much difference the " Bubble "  effect is above 80 but it seems in the upper 70s w, a white Jacket ( Del Mar ) for instance , w, air vents, on a Sunny day, seems to be cooler than a similar Jacket like an  white Arizona ( which I have one )  w, air vents like the Del Mar.

I don't ride usually in colder temps without a heated Jacket under my Dainese Jackets so that is no help to you sorry.

I wear a different jack in the cold, so I don't really have an answer for you.

I had a perforated del mar, and that was really cold for me...even on a decent (san francisco bay area) day. YMMV

Now I have a non-perforated.

You can always layer some thermals or a wind blocker and a fleece under a Dainese Jacket w, a Bubble liner.

That will keep you warmer .

Especially if you get a Jacket like a Del Mar that has zip vents that can be closed for cooler temps.
