Title: Dainese Full Metal Racer Gloves?
Post by: DarkStaR on August 15, 2010, 04:47:32 PM
I "think" these gloves are called the Full Metal Racer.  Correct me if I'm wrong.

If anyone else has these, can you tell me if the kevlar (yellow inner liner material)...I think it's kevlar...that slightly protrudes where the seam is fraying like mine?

Is this normal?

Should I just cut 'em off? I keep thinking of happens when you pull the proverbial sweater thread.

It's mostly on the left as I put that on first, and use that to put on the other. I'm guessing it the velcro on the other glove that pulling the threads.

I think I got them for about $200 +/- $25.

Would I buy them again..sure, if I got the same deal.  Probably not for full price...ok maybe.

Also, what other gloves goes well with the Del Mar?  ;D

I've got 2 pairs.

They are the softest of all the Racing Gloves I have and I have many different ones ( see what are you wearing ).

My one pair is starting to do what yours is doing.

I just took a very sharp pair of scissors and clipped it off making sure not to cilp the leather.

Are they worth $300 ?

I guess if you can afford them .

Since I have so many different pairs of Racing Gloves that I wear every time I ride the FMRs don't get worn that often in the rotation so they aren't going to wear out anytime soon.

I think for protection and longevity ,Held Titans would get my #1 vote .

The Dainese Full Metal Racers are the most comfortable of the 7 different high end model Racing Gloves I wear.

my friend and i were talking about this, how hongkong will sell you a usb cord for 11 cents and ship it overseas.
Obviously the government must be subsidizing them. are they importing dainese and passing the governments funds
on to us? i would like that . wishful thinking maybe

Little doubt that those are fakies. There's been other discussions on here about other budget priced 'Dainese' stuff coming out of HK.... YOu know the saying 'If it's too good to be true...'

They could be considered a " weapon " if you decked someone w, them I think.

If someone tooka swing at you 1st, then I don't know how that would be looked upon.

Inconsistencies with those HK ebay gloves vs mine:

1) Tag is in the wrong place.
2) Tag symbols are slightly different.
3) Stitching on the large dainese logo is different.
4) The leather grain does not match.
5) Missing "Dainese Racing Equipment" logos on gauntlet trim.
6) CE Dainese tag missing

Both pairs of my FMRs came from the Dainese stores .

They were bought about a year apart and they have a major difference.

The pad on the Palm or heel of the the hand on the the one pair is like the ones on Ebay , a larger thicker pad.

Neither of mine has the Glove tag in the middle of the top of the Glove like the one shown on Ebay.

Neither of mine have the small red Devil head logo which appear at the base of the finger as shown on the ones on Ebay.

The ones on Ebay do have the word Dainese around the collar of the Gloves in very small letters just as mine do.

I think one of the most difficult things to reproduce would be the word Dainese over the Knuckles in such a clear manner.

I think if they could be had for no more than $150 they would still be a good buy ....they are to my eye 95 % correct.

I must correct a statement I made in error about those FMRs on Ebay and that is the part about the 2 small red Devil Head logos on the palm at the base of the 2 fingers not being on my pair of FMRs that I bought at the Dainese Store.

I wore the newest pair ( the white ones ) today and happened to notice the 2 red Devil's Head logos in the very same place as shown on the FMRs on the pair on Ebay.

Only the tag is different from my 1 year old FMRs.
