Title: Fortnightly Melbourne Monday Ride
Post by: ducmeister on August 23, 2010, 06:00:10 AM
Finally got out for a ride with Koko64 this morning.  Pleasure to meet you Tony.
We both talked about the fact that we work shifts which gives us more time to ride during the week and I'm thinking that it would be good if this was a more regular thing.
So, my plan is this:  I'll aim to be out for a ride every second Monday morning because it fits in with my shifts and if I advertise it some others might join in.  [moto] [moto] [moto]
Next ride will be Monday the 6th of September.  Let me know if you're interested and we can work out the details closer to the date.

Done.

You know, in summer an early morning run to Yea for breakfast would be a blast.

Hey Heather,

Glad you managed to get out for a fang.  Halls Gap is a top spot to head for too.  [moto]

Did a few k's myself yesterday with a big group (about 35 bikes) and we headed out through Powelltown, Noojee, and down to Jindivik to a very nice cafe.   [moto] [coffee] [bacon] [thumbsup]  Why do we always seem to end up at a cafe somewhere?

Yes, it was a bit cool.

Hmn I remember Powelltown/Noojee.  [moto]  Very nice through there.  [thumbsup] Would have been fantastic riding today but too busy.  [bang]  Rain again for the rest of the week.  :'(   Cafes are safer than the pub  ;D

Weather is supposed to be fine for the next two days - yay. Let me know if you wanna join in.  Anyone else?

Hi MadAlf.  Was talking about this week.  ie Did it yesterday and today.  Today's weather was magic for riding.  Heaps of others riders in the Healesville area thought so too.

Bugger it. Now I can't do a ride Monday. Taking the kids to Marysville and Stephensens falls.
How about Friday?

Ouch that's going to hurt - driving to Marysville  :o.  The kids will be entertained by you leaning in corners and making motorbike noises.  [laugh]

Hi all, back from hols.  Coffs Harbour, Hervey Bay, Fraser Island, warmth.  What more could one ask.
Heather, sorry about missing your ride.  Just my luck to not be around when you come through.
I'm still up for a ride tomorrow if anyone's interested although I don't think the weather forecast is all that good.
I know that Koko64 can't come but if anyone else is keen just say so.

Boy did you miss out Rob.  It was the best two days in Melb for the last 6 months and the hills were alive with the sound of bikes.  Waved when I went past your place.  [thumbsup]

I'm departing on another trip to Sydney on Wednesday - looks like it may be cold, wet and possibly a bit slippery if the black ice/snow forecasts are to be believed (and that's on the NSW side  ;D).  I am so looking forward to summer.

Will catch up when I get back.  [moto]

Sacrifice of Fatherhood. :'(
Glad the weather is crap today. It would be too painful to drive up there on a beautiful day with bikes everywhere. As for leaning into corners and making motorbike noises, I'll need windscreen wipers on the inside!  :D

Well Ducmeister and I got in another morning ride to Yea. I did 245kms all up. Wasn't too cold and only some drizzle 10 minutes from home, (still had to clean her up though). He knows some good back roads.

You could tell Ducmeister had been to the Island for the GP. Mud all over his bike and boots. Bike looked staunch, no Ducati poser there. Sounds like a good time was had by all despite the weather.

No worries.  We usually meet somewhere at about 9 or 9.30 and go until about midday or a bit after.
More details later in the week.
