Title: Review......Under Armour - Armored Underwear.
Post by: DoubleEagle on September 05, 2010, 02:01:56 PM
As promised , I wore my new Under Armour armored underwear ( see thread below ) yesterday on a 6 hour endurance race on my S 1000 RR through the hills and forests of South Central and Southern , Ohio
Luckily  ( I was very shocked to not see any  [leo] be it the 1st day of the Labor Day Holiday weekend ) I could ride pretty much as fast as I dared to .

It was a welcome relief weather wise from the 90 degree temps we have been having most of the Summer.

It may have never got out of the high 60s.

The Padded underwear was comfortable and wicked moisture very good.

I did have an Under Armour Cool Moc Turtleneck on over the undershirt so I was plenty warm ...to the point that I had to open the vents on my Dainese Arizona leather Jacket.

The Tailbone pad made the seat more comfortable.

All in all a good purchase even though I didn't crash test the padded underwear.

They will go in the wash in cold water w, the rest of my underwear w, some Ammonia and Tide liquid.

DoubleEagle, have you worn any other padded or armored shorts to compare these to. I have been looking at shorts from Dainese, knox, A*, Under Armor, and various brands at my local bicycle shop. My tail bone area is sensitive, padding in this area would be welcome.

In addition to the Under Armour , I wear a pair of Crash Pads Underwear which have a Tail Bone pad plus I also wear over those a pair of Dainese Pro Shorts which have a large hard Armored Tail Bone pad w, soft padding on the inside.

I order my Dainese leather pants 1 size larger to accommodate the extra gear ........but it sure makes it easy on the butt !
