Title: any grand cherokee owners?
Post by: brix821 on September 10, 2010, 10:46:16 AM
I have an 02 grand cherokee laredo, if you own one of these vehicles then are, more than likely, all to aware of the stupid make the beast with two backsing power window regulators. I had my 2 front windows fail on me in one day! now the rear windows hare going and I cant fix it for the life of me. my service manual only covers the front windows and any exploded view I have found isnt helping. Can you help?

It is a Chrysler product. Basically, any switch or electrical system produced by them or for them will fail. They make Lucas look good.

Sorry if I sound bitter. I am the proud owner of a '99 Cherokee, and the soon to be past owner of an '05 Town and Country. The T&C has had a Power window fail, one of the power doors, the DVD player, the power steering is flaky, water pump went out, the rear bumper warped. All in two years and 40k miles.

I know the child saftey switch was intermittent on my last jeep and wouldnt allow the windows down. I've had good luck with jeeps. My last one went 200k without putting a dime into it. I have an '04 grand cherokee now with 110k trouble free so far except for the tps that needs to be replaced tomorrow and the recall on the heated seats. I'm pretty happy. The '05 stuff is garbage. Transmissions are horrible and they got rid of the I6. Now there are just cheap minivan engines in these trucks. That's why I got the '04.
