So.... Who came in #1? ...?
Cant believe Stoner came in 3rd :P
Spoiler alert: if you are tivoing, hit the back button quickly..,
Stoner was on pole, but seemed to have stability problems through almost 3/4 of the race. This led to pedrosa going around stoner and dovisiosa and opening up almost an 8 second lead by race end. Rossi played his usual game of "how far back can I start and still podium?" and the battle with him and stoner was almost nerve-wracking with stoner's duc wobbling mightily at both turn entry and exit... Still not sure what happened there... It was unnerving at times.
All in all a great race. De Puniet was the only crash, and he walked away (kickbg and swearing, but walking ). Elias got black flagged off the course, not sure what happened there, need to check the net later..,
Cheers,
Svoloch

Stoner's suspension issues and bike stability have been terrible for over a year. He just can't out-dragrace the field anymore. Nobody is successful on that bike but him. Its really one of the worst bikes in the field overall if you look at total success. That bike has been bucking under the riders like that since they built it.
Stoner whines now that he isn't whipping everyone into submission by 10+ seconds a race ( he whined when winning too b/c no one gave him credit ). He doesn't seem to enjoy the other end of the stick. His bike has power and tires... but they have no clue what to do with setup it seems. They are probably missing Capirex and his setup help atm.
It was on full display today watching how much better a chassis the Yamaha has than the Ducati. They say Stoner's dirt background is why he can ride the gp7/8. No one else gets along with it at all.
Note about Elias: I believe he jumped the start. I heard the commentary talking about a ride through penalty, but I think he may have ignored it or something and got black flagged. Not entirely sure but I think it was due to him jumping the gun.
That's my take on Elias also. He jumped the start and would not come in for the ride through penalty. Guess he thought he hadn't jumped the start but someone needs to tell him that the officials make those decisions not the riders. That's why they are called officials and riders are called riders. Gee, I guess he showed them, huh? :P
Was a great race for sure. Kinda forgot about Pedrosa and pretended the fight for 2nd and 3rd was the lead fight. Nice for Pedrosa to win at home. Light years between him and Hayden these days. Again, it could be the "red headed step child" treatment that Hayden has had the last couple of years from Honda. I've said it before, World Championship or not, I bet they don't renew his contract whenever it's up. Maybe he would fare better on another team? He's a hard worker for sure and never complains. Oh yeah, and he can ride a bike pretty freaking fast too! [thumbsup]
I missed most of the races, but I finally got to meet some of you guys! [thumbsup] It was nice and fun meeting you all. Hopefully, I'll be able to do this more often. ;D

don't leave your sunglasses unattended around this guy. [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]
seriously, good to finally meet you Barry.
Jake, I more or less agree with you. However, Stoner still blew past dovisioso on a straight away like he was standing still. They need to sort out the setup of the bike, I think the power is not too bad, and if it was not buckling under hard breaking, or shimmying when he gets on the gas, I think Stoner can still stomp his way to the front of the pack again. It was just too much to ask for him to stay perfect for 9 more laps with the doctor on his tail.
Brian, Pedrosa rocks. Hayden looks more and more like Vanilla Ice every day. Lisa likes him, but only when he keeps his mouth shut. Which, sadly, is not very often. OTOH, being mouthy in the hayden dynasty is probably the only way to get heard.
Bryant, forgot to call you out on an excellent impersonation of de Puniet swearing up a storm in French... nice.
Hey, I think Dani rocks too! I believe he'll get his Championship one day soon, he's awfully young so he has plenty of fast seasons ahead of him. As long as he stays healthy and unhurt. I don't think Hayden complains... of course the bar has been set in stone a few years ago by Biaggi! [evil] How can anyone accuse anyone of complaining when it's bound to pale in comparison to Max! To his credit that year off (time out in the corner?) helped Max learn to shut up and ride. I think he's an asset to World SBK. Anyway, damn good racing this weekend. Again, loved the 250 race! It was great!!

Only saw the last half lap... Freakin' Motopia had the TeeVee on a CAR RACE & wouldn't change it MotoGP. WTF?!?
That, & the help is not as friendly on the weekends. I may be off Motopia for awhile.

Hey, I was leaving on 'la Aprilia Scarabeo 50cc's as that McClaren discharged its passengers. Holey Moley - what a car - just watching the doors open was gorgeous. I put on all the dignity I could and full throttled it outta there at at least 15mph.

Good to see you again, Barry! Glad you have the 1098 up & running. We expect to see you out more often [thumbsup]
Now, let's talk about a track day...
QuoteHowever, Stoner still blew past dovisioso on a straight away like he was standing still.
The Honda is this years slow bike for the most part. I saw a list of top speed numbers lately and Honda isn't up near the top like the end of last season when they seemed to find more power. The Yamaha is pretty close, but Ducati still has a very slight speed edge. I think the Duc is consistantly about 5km faster than the Honda, but with the slipstream slingshot and with Stoner being a better man on the brakes, I think it looked like the Ducati was hauling ass a tad more than he really was. The Yammy seemed to keep up with him though.
Dovisioso really rode his butt off. Good race for the rook.

Now, let's talk about a track day...
I know, I know.... ;D I plan to do one this year.
By the way. Chad at Wilzgarage has added a couple of parnters to his business. Don, is a motorcycle mechanic (7years) and Jim is a Ridesmart Track day instructor. They are now doing minor and possibly major work on most bikes for $60/ Hour. Tire changes off bike are $15 and on bike are $30. So, they will be helping me get my track day stuff ready.....I think. :) Chad will match most tire prices too! Oh, and by the way, they also are official Ohlins dealers and are qualified to set your bike's suspension up at the track, etc. [thumbsup]
Talking about track days, has anyone ever checked out this site? Check out the suspension set up information regarding Ducati and all the other bikes. It's really interesting. Enjoy!

They are moving to : www.onthethrottle.tv , but they no longer have Ducati on the list....I don't know why. ???

Only 4 beers on tap though. And no cable. :P
