well I just spent a couple of days in beach haven nj and had a pretty good time and got really drunk. I drove down in my car
from new hampshire and had no problems whatsoever the whole 7 hours it took to get there. the day i was going to come
back i made it about a half hour from LBI and my car started overheating. i pulled over and let it cool down and tested my luck
and continued on. i turned the heater on and it seemed to be ok and the temp gauge showed it was running a just a little bit
hot. i got near toms river and my car started making a rattling noise and losing power. i just barely made it to the shoulder of the
highway and the make the beast with two backsing thing died and starting pouring out steam and smoke.I also had my wife and my two year old and three
year old. after about 15 minutes an officer pulls up behind me and tells me i cant be on the side of the road for more than 2 hours.
i had about 80 bucks left and a credit card that i wasnt sure how much i had on it. my cell phone went in the ocean with me the day
before so i couldnt call anyone that i was staying with in beach haven. he called me a tow truck and i stuck my 2 car seats, kids, and
wife into the guys tow truck and they towed my to the pepboys in toms river. that cost me 80 bucks which i put on my credit card.
i knew my car was junk then and they told me it was probably the head gasket and i agree. so im pretty much make the beast with two backsed at that point.
i call a taxi to take me back to beach haven and that cost me another 80 bucks and the dude didnt take credit cards. so now i was flat broke.
I was lucky to get another night stay with the people i was staying with. in the morning i went to enterprise to rent a car one way to n.h.,
the total came to $328 for the rental because i guess when you go out of state one way they charge you a dollar a mile and i told him it was
about 200+ miles and the car itself was $40 a day plus tax. my card didnt have enough so a relative pout it on his card. I got the car and got
the make the beast with two backs out of nj.
so now there is a free car in pepboys parking lot. if you want the key let me know and ill mail it to you. It will drive but dont know how far.
also now i gotta sell my bike to get another car anyone want an 05 620 with a salvaged title? ohh yeah the car is n 97 crhysler lhs with nh plates!
sorry for the epic post but i had to vent.

NMC is all of the sudden fun again.

The Deal King wishes he lived closer to your free car...
it was a nice car leather, sun roof, tons of trunk space. i should have left the key in it so maybe someone would steal it
and i wont get fined for abandoning a vehicle.
Tough break man.
Try to keep that bike. What you need is a $200 car..
Deal King style
I am pretty sure you don't want to abandon cars. If someone does steal it, and uses it for something illegal, gets pulled over, etc, it will come back to you.
My bother in law had this happen to an old, non-running, vw bug he junked at the junk yard. It was found years later 1500 miles away and under questionable circumstances. The police from the state it was found in contacted him.

yeah it kind of sucks im a bit worried about it bit the cop had it towed there for me and im pretty sure the dudes at pepboys knew i was going to ditch it.
i took the keys so unless they wanna hotwire a car that wont make it a mile down the road then i dont think i have to worry too much.

You might want to have a friend or someone get the car outta there because if they end up calling the cops or a private tow to remove it and impound it you are going to end up with the fees for the tow and storage. If you can go back or have someone swing by the pepboys try throwing in a bottle of the head gasket fix liquid into it and drop it off at a junkyard or donate the damn thing.
thats kind of why i posted here i dont have any friends in nj and figured someone on here might live close enough to claim it for themselves. and no im not driving back to j for the car.
what about these people????

Can't they help you out?
I live in belmar, NJ.
My roommate wants a nice beginners bike. How much do you want for it?
This could work out for you [beer]
i dont live in nj thats just where the car is he can have it if he wants it and its still there,
the bike i dont really know how much. it aint worth much but i paid around 2300 for it
Dude get on the phone with that pepboys and try to get one of the guys there to take it...and then get the title to them asap. hell, the slavage yard around the corner here will pay $300.
This is going to bite you in the ass. Within a week they'll have it towed, and you'll owe more then you can recoup. And it will surface and catch up to you at the worst time and you'll be further behind that you are now.
things like leaving a car on a private lot in a different state is just asking for hardship. You left the tags on it too didn't you.
(This was actually a very good idea to post about seeing if anyone here wanted it. My post was more to say you can't just let this one slide).
listen to the lawyer...
he kept my sorry ass out of jail. ;)

Statler gave both good lawyer advice and good financial advice, follow it [thumbsup]
Too bad it's not closer, I'd pick it up and fix it, drive and drive it until you figured out how/were able to come get it. It'd work off the needed work in mileage ~
