Donald has mentioned a place behind Half Price
Books on NW Hwy that has cheap draft
Spaten. I've never been there and don't
have the name now. It sounded good! [thumbsup]

it's called henk's, and it's awesomeness. terrific food if your a german fan, and great prices (especially on beer). as a bonus they have music quite a bit, and old german folks that are singing along (in deutsch). they also have some cool events once and a while like tubafest...which is exactly what it sounds like [beer]
Prost!
oh and there's also a little deli/store there as well which always looks good; though i've yet to buy anything.
i'll see if we can make this.
[drink] The full name is Henk's Black Forest & it's on Blackwell behind the big Half Price Books on NW Highway east of 75. $3.95 for a 22 oz Spaten in a frosty mug - shhhhh! It's a secret. I might could make it about 7:30 after my shoot. [beer] Remember to keep this on the downlow - it's already pretty popular !!!

for you it's not, actually I'm relieved.
Thanks for the help guys! Donald has been busy with
work, so it's been a while. Spaten sounds
good [drink]
I could make this [drink]
That's maybe 5 minutes from my house and that's if I hit the one traffic light red. There's a good little tex-mex spot right next to it too. The parking lots for both places are always full... what does that tell you. [thumbsup] I'd love to make this but I am leaving for a west TX dove hunt tomorrow AM. Maybe next time. [beer]
I've been wanting to check this place out ever since Donclone mentioned it awhile back. Local precipitation forecast looks like a 90% chance of Spaten. [beer] [thumbsup]

Awesome. Good call, TG [thumbsup] I prolly won't make this one but hopefully it becomes one of our regular haunts... I mean at $4 bucks for a bucket of Spaten how could it NOT?

Kuby's and Henk's both close around 6 on school nights, 9 on the weekends. Both are rather staid, family atmosphere old-line German bakery/delis. Dallas doesn't have a real Bierstube. [beer]
Gee, I just had a vivid childhood recollection of a group of drunk German civilian employees slow racing each other on their BMWs and Zundapps to entertain the Amerikaners at a missile wing staff picnic at Hahn AFB in the late 50's. Some idiot put an unopened can of pork & beans on the grill to warm it - it exploded and the contents scalded a kid. Just first degree burns, so they put margarine on them. I had a brat on a bun with hot brown mustard. Good times!
You couldn't get away with any of that today. [leo]
:P Sorry everyone - I'm an idiot - had breakfast there yesterday and completely ignored their clearly posted hours. [bang]
Hope everyone found another place to drink & have fun. I didn't even finish work until 8:30. [thumbsdown]
No worries Donald. We will have some Spaten there soon [thumbsup]
I'm off work Sat and Sun.
BTW there may be a Lake of the Pines
Ride this weekend.

bavarian grill in plano is pretty decent, too. i like henk's a lot better, though.
+1 Bavarian Grill [clap]
