I needed a green slip for a bike and was worried because of the recent hikes in premiums. So i did a search and was suprised by the variations in price. They ranged from $420 to over $800, the cheaper (which i went with of course) is a well known insurer and that is for a 1600cc motor. It pays to shop around, i was expecting to pay well over $600 from what i had heard lately. Just thought i would share that with you.

Wasn't going to give any of them free plugs here melvin...but seeing that you asked.....GIO......
GIO have been the most competitive in the last few years and many of us have green slips with them.
+1 GIO

Green slip discussion was distracting the midweek madness thread ... and this was the most recent of a few I could find - so dragged this one back up.
After talking about it ... guess what appeared in the mail today?
Green slip renewal for the 800. Just over $400 an increase of 7-odd% over last year ... according to the MAA still the cheapest by almost 18%.
The spread of the 7 options offered by the MAA website indicated about 50% extra for the most expensive over the cheapest. It would seem my aging body and respectable postcode help a little.
