The odd duck trailer, well, go hit up all the trailer foods off south congress, easy to walk to most all of em there (few more sprinkled around the city)
Flip Happy Crepes, yet another trailer, but one of the oldest and best right off zilker park
East side show room, must go and eat and have a mixed drink here
Mighty Fine burgers, name says it all!
Rudy's BBQ, you have a choice obviously of any number of BBQ joints, and even though this is a Texas chain, it's STILL my favorite brisket ever and that's saying something as I've literally roamed the state eating the top BBQ around...
Uchi is some of the best sushi around, be ready to pay for it though.  If you're expensing, hey, hit it up, reservations good idea
There are a ton of other options as far as pizza, tex mex, and other great treats, but you only have 3 days!
If you want the 'where-I-used-to-always-go-when-I-was-in-college-in-austin,' that's another list!

If you haven't booked your hotel yet, I'd try to get a spot in the San Jose, it's a pretty incredible place

ah, gotcha

south congress is a little bit of a walk from the hilton, not totally undoable, but probably worth a taxi if you plan to do it, although grabbing a drink off 4th, 5th, 6th, or 7th isn't a bad walk

spend a little bit of time walking around downtown a bit west of the hilton, it's not a bad part of town and there's a new'ish' hotdog joint (that's not a cart) that does a tasty dog with local beers (if I remember correctly, almost in the middle of where you are and Ballet Austin)

OH, and don't forget to get some local Texas beers!  There's a host of em available and they're quite tasty!

Don't miss Whole Foods, 6th and Lamar (Largest WF in the world, 5-6 different "restaurants inside)

Take a walk on Town Lake, take in the sights and the eye candy. Or if you're the active type, bring your running choos and get in a workout instead (don't forget to pack a dark pair of shades....you'll thank me later)

Zilker Park

Also, Weds night at Mings is bike night...haven't been in a while so not sure if it is still going (It's on Guadalupe, so a very short cab ride)

Go to Lance's bike store (Mellow Johnny's)

I also second South Congress, or at least the Congress Bridge around @ sunset for the Bats (you should see a huge crowd gathered there anyway).....I believe it is right by your hotel. You can also walk down the other way on Congress to teh Capitol.

Edit: Never mind the Mings thing, I just checked the date of your post

So, where did you end up going Stat?!

I didn't see this thread until now.  I would have suggested Torchy's for a Dirty Sanchez!!   [thumbsup]
