+1 Lake Beryessa is a blast! - Not a bad place to get to know your bike.

Just talked to a guy who got busted up there, it's heavily patroled area and now they are using a helicopter to spot people speeding/passing and giving you a ticket down the road. If you ride up there watch for the eye in the sky and don't speed.

Welcome.
And from what I gather, if anyone knows the man, it's probably TCK. They're seen a lot together these days.

Hehe... Yea, it is my bike, famous, no way.! :-[ Thanks for your comments..!
yea I can’t wait to see what every one is doing with their 696. Do you have any ideas as to how will you be modifying your bike ?

My plans for now are, Termis, CF cosmetic stuff & some cool clutch cover.
Thanks for the warm welcome.
I was looking at a dark 696, and there are some things I would do right away.
#1 Remove the hot dog tray and reflectors + stickers from the frame. Good thin you don't need a tail chop. [cheeky]
#2 Paint or powder coat the rear sets ( entire assembly)
#3 New mirrors (CRG) would be my choice
#4 Clutch and brake levers, again CRG.
#5 Triple clamp modification or new one with the respective clip-ons under the triple.
#6 I don't know if yours comes with the seat cowl, if it does not, I would get one.
#7 Exhaust pipes.!! I don't like the pipes that flair out some how, I prefer straight, however I know that you are limited
to what ever they make for it.
I believe the 696, is a really sweet looking bike, but those are the first things I would work on
Have fun and ride safe..
p.s. post pictures soon.. [thumbsup]
Let us know if you need help...!!
are the 696s dry clutch?

We could probably JB weld an open clutch cover on top of the stock one :)
Maybe some bailing wire for effect?
As promise, some pics :)

Hey, it doesn't count until we see pics of it in your garage :)
Very nice. I was skeptical, but that bike is growing on me. Is that Ace Motorsports' showroom?

Thanks,
You're very close, come to my BBQ Party on Sat. 6/21.
regards,
Lito
Very nice!! I vell in love with the 696 see second I saw the first pictures of it on the net. I'm sure you'll have a blast with it and if you ever need someone to ride it while you're out of town, I'll volunteer. ;D
One other mod to consider is removing the charcoal canister from the left side in front of the motor. It sticks out like a soar thumb.
That bike's got some nice angles. Sweet.
You will loooove the slipper clutch. It is very MMmmmmm in the curves. [popcorn]
I sat on a couple and they were pretty nice bikes. I know that they at least share the same brakes with the 848.
