hi dukes.
does any of you guys have this jacket? (dainese vintage pelle)
on the website they say that, due to some special washing the jacket is 7% smaller...
i use to be a 54, at least my dainese\ducati 80's is a perfect match for me, so i'm wondering if any of you guys have tested this for me...
and i was trying to insert a pic, but it's not working
It's really kind of subjective. It depends on what other jacket you would be comparing it with. The Vintage is cut much more relaxed to begin with if you are comparing it to some of our more technical jackets. For instance, I normally wear a size 60 in something like the Santa Monica, but in the Vintage I wear a 58.
The Vintage is even more relaxed than the Ducati 80's jacket you have, so if you wear a 54 in that, you should be safe with a 54 Vintage.
Absolutely gorgeaous jacket, by the way. Pictures don't even begin to do it justice. There is a reason the first production run sold out in a matter of weeks.
totaly understand you...but where i live is just nowhere where to try it, and to buy one in blind...does't sound like a good idea, knowing that it has a different cut.
thanks for thi info
If you like, PM me your contact info. When they land, I can send you a couple of different sizes, then just ship back the one that doesn't work for you.
Just curious if anyone has any more info on these yet. I still haven't seen one in person...
Can you describe the subjective fit, other than that it's more relaxed? It seems like the shrinking process would make it shrink in some areas more than others, and I'm just curious which ones...
For example, say I ordered the jacket one size more than my regular jacket. Would the arms end up being longer (bigger size), or shorter (shrinkage area) than my standard dainese jacket?

You will be fine going one size larger with the Vintage. Arm length isn't dramitically different. The "shrinkage" is mainly in the chest, and even that is fairly minimal.
I'm after one of these Jackets too. Aussie currently living in Japan.
I've seen a couple in Japan BUT way too small for me to fit into.
