Title: Return to the DUCATI family
Post by: spaceguy on November 07, 2010, 03:25:47 PM
hi everybody,

I'm Stephane BERGER, from near Paris, in FRANCE.

A pretty Monster 900 S (1998) is now in my garage. What a wonderful engine...
I sold my first DUCATI, a 94' 750SS, to my brother (so still in the family  :)) in 2001, and replace it by a YAMAHA 900 Diversion (98') because at that time I'd have to ride around 180 km per day... The YAMAHA is still in the garage, usefull for daily or long ride. It's also a bike without any problem (mechanical, less chance to be stolen...).

I also have :
YAMAHA 500 XT 1977 (1U6), mythic big single, great sentations with this engine,
KAWAZAKI 420 KDX 1982, powerfull 2 strokes, hard to drive correctly,
DUCATI 450 Scrambler (1972), still in pieces  :'(
CZ 125, like the Scrambler...
YAMAHA TY50 (2J7), not pretty but give by a friend
PIAGGIO Vespa T5, with a 5 transfert cylinder giving more power.

I ride until 1997, and I'm 42 now, and I hope riding 50 years more  ;D

Hi and welcome!

I was in France, south east, this summer - going to World Ducati Week.
Beautiful scenery, predictable driving culture, very nice roads [moto]
One thing that surprised me was that reading the road signs was the easiest of all surrounding countries.
I'll be back.

Welcome to the DMF! :)

Sounds like a great collection of bikes. [thumbsup]  Please feel free to show off pictures. ;D

I have also spent a bit of time in France on business trips, but the only time I got to ride there was on the back of a moto taxi in Paris to get to CDG airport.
