Has anyone been ?
I'm booked in on the 20th for an advanced rider day.
Looking foward to it but haven't been there before.
It looks frikkin awesome. It's like the old road, but one way sealed of for bikes, up near mt white. I would do it if I could. But last time I checked they have noise requirements that may prohibit many of us from participating on paper (<95dB) Not sure how active they are at policing it.
I have only heard good things about it though!
The stay upright courses have dB restrictions too. Didn't notice anyone checking when I went to Broadford.
Yeah, but The Farm is some guys backyard and he has built a racetrack in it (or something). I dunno much more than what i read here:

I'll be very interested in your feedback on the day. The rider days are quite expensive, but I'm told that they're head & shoulders above what you get elsewhere. I understand you get tuition if you want it, and they throw on a BBQ as well. Top that off with a track that was designed for a fellow with too much money and a Mclaren (but nowhere to legally drive it) and it's said to be a fantastic experience.
Please post up your impressions of the day, plus any photos that you manage to snap (including of the pit area).
Have fun! [thumbsup]
I'll see what I can do !
After last nights Pizza and todays sleep in I can finally report back.
Wow what a full on day Bernie's training was great, 9 students with 5 teachers including Alex Cudlin , the new Superstock Endurance World Champion for 2010.
The pace was pretty full on with heaps on advice as a group and personally given. I was buggered and not overly excited last night, due to exhaustion I reckon. Now looking back on it I really learnt a lot.
Heaps of time spent riding. I did about 150 kms at The Farm which is a really technical circuit. Increasing radius corners, decreasing radius corners hair pins, off camber corners etc etc all thrown in. We ran anti clockwise and did 180 + KMPH on the back straight.
Food was good I couldn't get much in the way of photos but here is what I have. It is lots of $$$ but I would recommend it after you have done some other training.

HEY!
Is that the STIG in the second and forth photo?
Mmick
No MMick not the Stig sorry !
Photos 3 & 4 are the one corner, then if you look at the top left of 4 you can see the "Esses" bloody hard work.
Sounds good, looks good but can I ask why there are big solid looking poles on the edge of the track?
I'm sure it can't be answered but that seem a little dangerous to me, unless I am misinterpreting the photos. :-\

Looks like PVC tubing?
sign post Matty, it needs to look like a standard road as per council requirement and so the owner can't get sued. As is it in the back of the bush and some person can easily venture on the road not knowing it is a private track.

Yes it's gated, in several spots. But if someone some how finds their way in there.......There are also speed advisory signs of which none are higher than 60, some as low as 30.
Just for saftey's sake !
yep ...pvc tube ...but run off is limited so dont... [laugh] [laugh]....guy in red T shirt is john woodley....the legendary 500cc gp racer from the 70's......the guy has the cleanest lines and has an absolute cracker MV that he launches at 11k rpm ....not bad for a guy who is 60 ish.....gives us old blokes something to look fwd to.......
