Title: Streets of Philadelphia
Post by: Hank025 on November 11, 2010, 06:20:50 AM
Hi,

I started over on the (other forum) about 5 years ago and never did any serious posting since I wasnt riding a Ducati at the time, lame I know, but a boy can dream.

So after about 5 years on some BMWs (1955 R50/2 and 2006 F650 GS) I moved on to my dream bike 2007 S2R 1000. I still have the F650 but gave up the R50.

The MODs have started already, but I am mostly just taking things off instead of adding them (ie emissions, Mickey Mouse Ears... beer tray this weekend).

I aplogize for not being the most frequent poster, but I promise if I find any helpful nuggets of infromation I'll chip in from time to time.

Oh and go Phillies!  [beer]

-Hank

Oh, and I roam the mean streets of philli from time to time. My buddy lives out there, while I'm in Pittsburgh

Though I'm long since removed, I'm a philly boy by birth. Little street just off South, between 25th and 26th was home..

Even though the the 1k motor is a bit touchy, its still fun to cruise down south street... always interesting people watching. Ive been in Philly for 7 years now, and i have a feeling its going to be very hard to call any other place home.

Honestly, my next stop was the DelValMostro board to introduce myself. Im a wolf pack of one, but wouldnt mind learning how to handle the Ducati from a Vet.

Yo, I'm on devalmostro and live in the Lansdale area. Quick shot down 476 and the Schuylkill and I'm in Philly.

The deval board is not very lively. Some of the guys live within 10 minutes of me and I've never met them.

I've never taken the bike into the city.. usually go the opposite direction towards quakertown.

Would be cool to cruise down south street some time. I'm not an older guy by the way.  [thumbsup]

some folks like the G2 ThrottleTamer. It's a different throttle tube for your hand controls that changes the cam profile. It lessens the % of throttle opening as you first twist the throttle, but is profiled to still get you to 100% throttle with the same total twist as with stock.

Welcome Hank!  I'm over in Conhohocken so I take the bike down into the city from time to time.  About to put the monster away for the winter though.  Time to plan some mods and trips for the spring.  Maybe I'll see you around the city some time.  Keep an eye out for the dark 696.

I don't know about any other Philadelphians, but I am definitely taking her out this weekend. Sunny with a High of 60!!! WoooHooo 8) I'm glad i procrastinated so long to put her in the shed.

Also getting up the nerve to perform tail surgery this weekend.

Conshy is definitley on my way around the city. I live in  Manayunk

I too might try to get one last right in either Saturday or Sunday if I can find the time.  Can't let a day like that go to waste.  I second the tail surgery.  That is definitely on the top of my list as far as mods go.  Let me know how you make out.  Yeah Manayunk is right next door...I pass through sometimes on my way to Kelly/Lincoln Drive.  Not a bad ride minus the traffic.  My project for the winter is to find some decent roads that aren't so congested.  Any one from the area have any recommendations?
